My coworker is not very knowledgeable about sales tax. She has been performing duties without knowing the what and why she is doing them. Those duties were transferred to me and she trained me.

People are very silo'd, they only focus on their immediate responsibilities. There isn't a sense of teamwork, most people I interact with won't step outside their daily role for the betterment of the whole company as it won't effect them. First place I have worked that was like this.
