Follett Corporation Outlook Employee Reviews

What makes you most happy at work?

Working with good people and helping others with their education

I am most happy when I can affect affordability for course materials and make the college dream a reality for all students.

Review from Sales Dept

Student customers and interactions with coworkers

Interactions with students, faculty, and staff make It all worthwhile

Review from Sales Dept

The environment their is just amazing

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

I do not think there can be any improvement at this point. All control has been stripped from the local campus store. Corporate is all about profit - not helping the students.

The people at the top need to treat the people below them like human beings.

Better buyers. Better merch. Lower prices

Need more staff at the store

Work load, giving us staff, hours allotted, high expectations with limited resources, checked out market leaders and regional leaders.

The company is no longer focused on customers and employees. It is now focused solely on profits and how to maximize them. Which is good for shareholders and executives, but terrible for everyone else.

Refer to other passive-aggressive comments on sickening management behavior.

Too bureaucratic at times Outdated technology makes us look incompetent. Way too many pointless tasks. Streamline processes and allow for workplace creativity.

Communication is poor and the book store is the problem according to the students.

Awful management and the pay is terrible

Reorganization of executive leadership is the only answer

Quality, competent leadership ASAP. Fire the current bunch NOW!

Dysfunction starts at the top and eats it's way down

Review from Sales Dept

Working in an hostile work place is draining. The manager's answer to everything is "if you don't like it you can quit!"

Better Leadership, compensation, better decisions made at executive level.

Change your leadership. The union is not the problem. You created the 2nd tier pay system. You wanted cheap labor. Well, you got it! The shop employees don't engineer. The shop employees don't buy purchase parts. The shop employees don't do the scheduling. We just make the product.

Asked for greater responsibilities while compensation hasn't changed in years. More stress and yelling with less pay leads to a dissatisfied workforce
