I like that they are friendly and knowledgeable
Local managers are great, very personal and friendly at most locations
My feelings are mixed, but the team only consist of two people.
A strong and card no leadership team makes my work worthwhile
Review from Sales Dept
They always make sure you give it 100%!
Disconnected from the day-to-day reality.
Open Door Policy. Straight forward and intuitive
The leadership team has no idea how to successfully run multiple small businesses. College bookstores cannot be run like large chains but they refuse to see how their decisions are harming their low level employees and customer base.
The leadership team needs to spend more time in the stores so they can see what the people keeping this company running are dealing with on a daily basis.
Communication, training, expectations, staffing, real goals
Praise. Communication. Value their employees.
Empathy for all its employees
Caring about employees wellbeing and work/life balance. Paying people what they're worth, or a livable wage at the very least. Realizing exactly how much work you're piling onto people while asking more and more each day
Treating their staff with respect
Hiring people. Managers are not allowed to hire. Only market leaders and it’s a process. Stop overloading your store employees and giving limited payroll and staff. Don’t be angry when a person can’t get everything done because they’re by themselves and have to service cu
Everything, they need more training themeselves in order to be working with employees
Supporting team members when problems arrive and not brushing things under a carpet like ALWAYS. Managers gossiping about other employees behind their backs WHEN THEY CAN HEAR THEM IN CLOSE PROXIMITY!!!!
Leading! Before follett's most recent failure, sale to PE group, there was no quality leadership! didn't even know if/who CEO was. Lots of big shot VP's working from home in their shorts drinking hard lemonade calling themselves leaders. FYI...publishers refuse to ship books due to lack of payment!
Training themselves to answer questions at a store level - not just passing it off to another store to answer
Stop choosing favorites and start holding employee bullies accountable instead of keeping them on staff.
Being considerate of employees and obeying labor laws
The company needs a leadership team.
Leadership! Beholden to business, employees and customers...not just family dividends
Including everyone in the conversation. Need to be transparent and treat the team as they are the solution and not the problem.
When executives find out an employee is being harassed or has been harrassed, the employee should not be told people will just think you do not like your job.
More forward-thinking, not chasing trends.
They all need to change the way they manage.
