Q&A With Franklin International Employees

Asked to all employees at Franklin International

  • The culture in the office is great. In the plant there is friction because the union contract forces everyone to be treated the same. Good employees suffer when supervisors crack down on problem employees. Example, some employees call off during the week to get Saturday overtime but then to keep up with the production schedule everyone has to work Saturday.

  • Get rid of the union

  • Everybody takes their job seriously, we could lighten up a bit.

Their adoption benefit has been nationally ranked for the last 9 years. The principle financial group ranked them as a top ten company for employee financial security because of their great life, disability and retirement programs. Last Thanksgiving the President personally handed me a turkey for my family's dinner. At this annual event he tries to say thank you to each employee individually. • Pretty good and recently improved.

  • Great! Recently added a couple of days to everyone and you can get up to 5 weeks. Also you get a couple days more every other year rather than having to wait 5 or 10 years to get another week. Flexibility includes carryover and one additional week unpaid if you want it. You can use a phone app to put in vacation requests from home, making it easy to coordinate with your spouse or friends. Most people can take Christmas week off. Everyone is encouraged to take all of their vacation time, it is culturally acceptable here. You are not expected to take any calls during vacation.
