Executive Bio

Ms. Alicia S. Boler-Davis has been Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing of General Motors Company since June 13, 2016. Ms. Boler-Davis is responsible for GM's customer service and retention in the U.S. She served as Head of Manufacturing and Labor Relations at General Motors Company since June 9, 2016 and served as its Senior Vice President of Global Connected Customer Experience since November 2014. Ms. Boler-Davis served as Senior Vice President of Global Quality & Customer Experience at General Motors Company from July 01, 2013 to November 2014 and also served as its Vice President of Customer Experience from February 08, 2012 to May 2012. She served as the manager of its Orion Township plant. She leads GM's global efforts to provide customers with the best overall service and experience in the industry, as well as market-leading connectivity and infotainment products and services. Prior to joining General Motors, she served engineering positions at The Upjohn Company and PepsiCo, Inc. Her scope includes GM's nearly 20-year-old OnStar safety, security and services brand. She also leads GM's Urban Active team, which is developing solutions to capitalize on the future of personal mobility, including car sharing. She is a Member of the General Manager Executive Leadership Team, the Opel Supervisory Board and the GM Korea Board of Directors. Since February 2012, Ms. Boler-Davis served as U.S. Vice President of Customer Experience at General Motors Company. Her role was expanded to vice president, Global Quality and U.S. Customer Experience. Under her leadership, GM fundamentally redefined customer care and its interaction with customers through social media channels and Customer Engagement Centers. In 2013 and 2014, GM was one of the most-awarded automakers for quality. Ms. Boler-Davis was simultaneously plant manager of the Michigan Orion Assembly and Pontiac Stamping facilities, as well as vehicle line director and vehicle chief engineer, North America Small Cars, she held until January 2011. She served as Plant Manager at the Lansing, Mich., Consolidated Operations and Arlington (Texas) Assembly, where she served as the first African-American woman to be a Plant Manager at a GM vehicle manufacturing plant. Ms. Boler-Davis began her GM career in 1994 as a manufacturing engineer at the Midsize/Luxury Car Division in Warren, Mich. During her career, she has held many positions of increasing responsibility in Manufacturing, Engineering and Product Development. Numerous organizations and publications have recognized her for her professional accomplishments and community service. Of note, in 2014 she was named Technologist of the Year by Women of Color Magazine. In 2013, Fortune magazine named her as one of the 10 most powerful women in the automotive industry. She has been an Independent Director of General Mills, Inc. since December 2016. In 2010, Automotive News included her in its list of the 100 Leading Women in the North American Automotive Industry. She is a member of the Northwestern University McCormick Advisory Council, a board trustee of the Care House of Oakland County and a member of the OnStar/Shanghai Board of Directors. Ms. Boler-Davis also serves as Executive Liaison for the GM WOMEN leadership board. Ms. Boler-Davis has Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering from Northwestern University and a Master's Degree in engineering science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
