He plays a vital role in helping WellPoint foster a unified and inclusive culture, further positioning WellPoint for success in rapidly changing health care environment. Mr. Tomas served as Chief People & Communications Officer and Executive Vice President of Burger King Corporation. Mr. Tomas served as the Chief People & Communications Officer and Executive Vice President of Restaurant Brands International Inc. since October 25, 2010. He served as the President of Latin America of Restaurant Brands International Inc. since February 2011. He served as Global Chief People Officer and President, Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) for Burger King, where he was responsible for the global human resources and communications functions and simultaneously led all operations, marketing, business development, purchasing, supply and distribution functions for the LAC region. He joined BKC in 2004. He served various field and corporate human resources positions with Ryder System Inc. and Publix Super Markets. He serves as a Board Member for the Society for Human Resource Management. He is certified by the Human Resources Certification Institute as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He holds a SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) certification and is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Fellow. Mr. Tomas has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Florida International University.
