Mr. Robert A. Lutz, also known as Bob, has been Senior Advisor of Katzkin Leather Interiors, Inc., since December 10, 2013. Mr. Lutz is a Partner in VL Productions, LLC with Gilbert Villarreal. He is a Co-Founder of Cunningham Motor Company and is assisting in product development. He served as a Part-Time Adviser of General Motors Company since September 1, 2011. He served as Senior Advisor at General Motors Company from April 1, 2009 to May 2010. He served as Senior Advisor of Motors Liquidation Company (formerly, General Motors Corporation) from April 1, 2009 to July 2009 and served as its Acting Chief Executive Officer. Prior to rejoining General Motors Company, he served as Chief Executive Officer at Exide Technologies from December 1998 to September 1, 2001 and served as its President from December 1998 to May 2000. He served as an Equity Analyst at WestLB AG, Research Division. Mr. Lutz held a distinguished career at Old Carco LLC from June 3, 1986 to 1998, where he served on various positions. He led all of Old Carco LLC's automotive activities, including sales, marketing, product development, manufacturing, and procurement and supply. He served for 12 years with Chrysler Corp. as Vice Chairman, President, Chief Operation Officer and Executive Vice President. He served as President at Old Carco LLC since 1988 and Chrysler Corporation since February 1991, responsible for its car and truck operations worldwide. Mr. Lutz served as Chief Operating Officer and a Member of the Office of the Chairman of Chrysler from January 1, 1993 to January 1, 1997. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Ford Motor Company, where he lastly served as Executive Vice President of Truck Operations. He began his automotive career in September 1963 at General Motors Company, where he held a variety of senior positions in Europe and served there until December 1971. For three years, he served as Executive Vice President of Sales at BMW in Munich and as a Member of its Board of Management. Mr. Lutz served several senior executive positions with BMW and its subsidiaries from 1974 to 1986. He also served as a Jet-attack Aviator in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1965 and attained the rank of Captain. He served as the Chairman of Product Development of Motors Liquidation Company, North America since November 13, 2001 and Interim President of General Motors Company Europe from March 1, 2004 to June 1, 2004. Mr. Lutz has been the Chairman of VIA Motors Inc. He served as Vice Chairman of Marketing and Communications at General Motors Company. He served as a Vice Chairman of Global Product Development at Motors Liquidation Company from March 2008 to April 1, 2009. He serves as Chairman of Board of Advisors of Current Motor Company. He served as Chairman of Exide Technologies from December 1998 to May 17, 2002. He served as the Chairman of General Motors North America from November 2001 to April 2005. Mr. Lutz serves as Vice Chairman of General Motors North America. He served as Vice Chairman of Motors Liquidation Company from April 1, 2009 to July 2009 and General Motors Corp. from 2001 to 2010. Mr. Lutz served as Vice Chairman of General Motors Company from December 4, 2009 to April 2010. He served as Vice Chairman of Old Carco LLC (formerly, Chrysler LLC) from 1997 to July 1998. He serves as a Director of VIA Motors Inc. and GeoDigital Automotive, Inc. He serves as a Director of ASCOM Holdings, A.G and NanoSteel. He has been a Director of EnerG2 Technologies, Inc., since May 2012 and Transonic Combustion, Inc. since May 2010. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at The Alexander Proudfoot Company. He served as a Director of General Motors Company. He served as a Director of Old Carco LLC since June 12, 1986, Exide Technologies from December 1998 to May 5, 2004, and Ford Motor Company from 1982 to 1986. Mr. Lutz served as a Director of Motors Liquidation Company since April 1, 2009. He served as a Director of Graphics Properties Holdings, Inc. (also known as Silicon Graphics Inc.) and Northrop Grumman Corporation. He served as a Member of the Supervisory Board for Adam Opel GmbH. He is Chairman of New Common School Foundation. He is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas. Mr. Lutz is a Director of the National Association of Manufacturers and is a Member of the Board of Trustees for the United States Marine Corps University Foundation. He is a Trustee of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. He is a Member of the American Highway Users Alliance. He is a Member of the Advisory Board for the University of California, Berkeley, School of Business Administration, and a Member of the National Advisory Council of the University of Michigan School of Engineering. He is a passionate supporter of electric vehicles. He regularly appears on television news programs and maintains a blog to defend Chevy Volt against its critics. His 12 years at Old Carco LLC is chronicled in his 1998 book, Guts: The Seven Laws of Business That Made Chrysler the World's Hottest Car Company. The SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Foundation named him the recipient of its 2006 Manufacturing Leadership Award. Mr. Lutz holds a Bachelor's degree in Production Management from the University of California-Berkeley in 1961, where he earned distinction as a Phi Beta Kappa. He has a Master's degree in Business Administration with highest honors from the University of California-Berkeley in 1962; an Honorary degree of Doctor of Management from Kettering University in 2003; and an Honorary Doctorate of Law from Boston University in 1985.
