My kindness was taken advantage of way too much by my manager.
What did you like most about the interview process?
It was quick and I did not know what I was getting myself into.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
For a company to be paying their sales associates minimum wage they ask for way too much. Especially with a horrible manager that $8.25 does not feel worth it. I know corporations are all about money, but GNC takes the cake for not caring about their lower level employees.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
My manager makes me clock her in hours before she physically arrives at our corporate owned store, when she does arrive she goes off and runs personal errands. She has cut my hours even though I have work them, not allowing me to go over 25. Making me lose money that I worked for.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
I feel as if i go above and beyond as an employee. I do the planograms, I restock, etc. I'm flexible with my schedule, but when it comes to me wanting or needing a day off it is impossible for my manager to work with it. My manager should have been let go years ago.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
GNC needs to focus less on only teaching managers to sell and more on retraining them to be managers. I have been taken advantage of way to much by my boss, she knows I'm nice too nice to say no. Maybe I should have put my foot down because she makes my anxiety act up.
