What's the interview process like at Handy?
Not the hardest. A few gotcha questions that aren't really helpful.
What part of Handy's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Growing into new markets, but still treating pros and customers like crap and so retention will continue to be terrible.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Handy?
Providing real value should be more important that appearing to be busy. Find managers who are suited to it, who have some experience leading and encouraging people in a meaningful way, and who, most importantly, are not turds.
How's the work life balance at Handy?
If all you do is love Handy all day and night, they love you. If you want to be a normal person and have some semblance of balance, you are seen as "uncommitted"
Does Handy have any remote positions?
Nope. Zero chance of that. They like to keep tabs on you.
How's the vacation policy at Handy?
"Unlimited" e.g. take as much as you want, as long as it's not too much, but we don't tell you how much is too much, so you're just fearful and guessing and don't take as much as you would if we had a real policy! Didn't experience much push back while actually requesting, but they are definitely counting the days to see how 'committed' you are to the company.

More style than substance. A lot of errors coming out of young/inexperienced managers, etc. They promote if you look like you're doing something, rather than actually bringing value to the company.
What makes you most happy at Handy?
The people are great - smart, passionate, fun. The work is super varied and interesting. I'm a Product Manager, and there's no boring days.
