Executive Bio

Mr. Michael J. Sousa serves as senior vice president and president, HealthStream Provider Solutions segment, which operates under the Verity brand. Mr. Sousa joined HealthStream, Inc. (the 'Company' or 'HealthStream') in October 2004 and served as Senior Vice President of sales from January 2010 to June 2014. In June 2014, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Business Development. In September 2015, he was named President of Echo, Inc., HealthStream's Provider Solutions business segment.Mr. Sousa provides executive leadership for this segment, directing our Boulder, CO; Brentwood, TN; Chicago, IL; and San Diego, CA teams to build, sell, and service our provider credentialing, privileging, enrollment, and onboarding solutions. Prior to this role, Mr. Sousa reengineered and integrated the HealthStream sales teams, launched HealthStream Professional Services, and designed and built our HealthStream Strategic Accounts Program. Before HealthStream, Mr. Sousa spent nearly ten years at IBM (and predecessor companies), concluding his tenure as an Associate Partner on the IBM Healthcare Leadership Team. Mr. Sousa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College's Carroll School of Management and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Boston University's School of Management.
