You need to have a Godfather for getting promotion for Project Leader and above....at least in India...

How do I do well in an interview at HERE Technologies?
Show up - the bar is shockingly low for some groups sadly.
Depending on the team it's not hard. Quite a low bar in various teams sadly. My team's acceptance rate is about 1 in 5 of those we interview in person (which is 1 in 4 of those we screen). Other team's its 1 in 2 or 1 in 3. And once they're in it's like a tenured professorship - it's forever.
What's the Engineering team like at HERE Technologies?
A bunch of managers with limited knowledge of how to run a software project. And a bunch of pretty smart engineers shaking their heads at how we got to this point.

It appears now to be all top-down now whereas previously there was 360 feedback and the previous leadership didn't shy away from solving problems at the organizational level. For better or worse this current leadership is "hell bent" on "keep moving forward" ignoring the cost in human capital

How many women are in your team? is it diverse enough?
This is one area where HERE excels, especially in Berkeley. We have lots of really talented women on the engineering teams as well as in important operational and leadership positions. It can always be better so they do have a some other programs for supporting women as well as social activities like getting together with the women at other companies like Pinterest and Uber and having speakers come and talk. Really great stuff!
How do the current devs on the team act towards new developers that join?
The teams have mentoring programs for pairing people up on their first few weeks to get them used to the environment and start fixing bugs. In general all new employees get tours, intros and swag when they join which is nice.
