Casual dress. I showed up for my interview in jeans and a button down short and this was just fine. IAM Robotics is a laid back culture.

Fine. I came into the office, interviewed for about 2 hours and I had a verbal offer on my home phone before I got home from the interview.

People work very closely with one another. The office space is an open space to encourage collaboration. It also allows us to openly discuss critical issues and address any concerns.

Again it is face paced and things need to get done quickly for various customers. Since engineering resources are limited, all issues cannot be addressed.

It is below the average for the Pittsburgh area, but IAM is a small company and does not have a large budget right now. The hope is to grow and earn money from various customers and hopefully compensate its employees with equity and stocks.

It is fast paced and things need to get done quickly to meet a customer demand. Typical work week is 40 to 50 hours a week.

None as of right now. There is no medical, no dental, no short or long term disability and no vision. We get the typical 2 weeks paid vacation per year and there is talk of equity, stock options but this has not manifested yet.
What are you most excited about working at Iam Robotics?
The flexible time to come into work each morning. Sometimes I can come to work at 8AM and other days I can come in at 9:30AM.

It depends on the type of position. For technical interviews there are employees with Masters and PhDs that ask very detailed and in-depth questions about the candidates background and depth of knowledge. Then other questions are often asked that determine how candidates may deal with a hypothetical situation to see if they are a good fit for the fast paced environment here at IAM Robotics.
What's the interview process like at Iam Robotics?
It was informal sit-down interview with both technical and non technical questions. There were no white board sessions like other big companies where you stand on your feet for several hours answering question after question in front of a panel of people.
