The student points leaderboard will be reset every Saturday evening (Sunday, 12:00am UTC), meaning that the points leaderboard only displays the number of points each student has earned for the current week.
This was implemented to continually motivate students and give each student a fair chance to be at the top of the points leaderboard. If one student has a commanding lead in overall points it tends to cause other students to lose motivation, so by clearing the points leaderboard each week provides an equal opportunity each week. Please note that students will still keep their points from week to week to spend and/or donate.

View ArticleIn 2018, Reasoning Mind joined the Imagine Math family. Reasoning Minds award-winning, early-learning math program, Blueprint, delivers rigorous, age-appropriate instruction using lovable characters and songs withcaptivatingstorylines. While Blueprint was originally developed for students in grades Pre-K through 1, weve been hard at work expanding the curriculum to meet the needs of Grade 2 students. Now Blueprint is Imagine Math Pre-K-2.
For the 2019-2020 school year, weve combined the Imagine Math Pre-K-2 curriculum with Imagine Math Grade 3 and up to create a single student and educator experience with updated reporting and a unified login. Both the student and educator experiences can be accessed at https://math.imaginelearning.com.

View ArticleImagine Math'sBenchmark 1 Test and Benchmark Tests are designed to evaluate where students are in regards to grade level of enrollment and then to monitor progress change as they work through their individualized learning pathways.
Using the QuantileFramework, each student receives an initial Quantile Measure (QM) upon completion of theBenchmark 1 test, and two additional benchmark tests at intervals throughout the year track progress at the student, class, school, and district levels. These assessments produce a Quantile Measure, Performance Level, (Advanced, Proficient, Basic, Below Basic, or Far Below Basic), a Normal Curve Equivalent (NCE), and a Percentile Rank.
Each of these data points are designed to give teachers insight into students' abilities, as related to work completed in the Imagine Math Program. Once a teacher reviews a student's results, and takes into consideration the student's individual Progress Report, he/she has a better picture and understanding of the student's academic needs as it pertains to Imagine Math. A teacher may want to consider changing a pathway based on these results; but should also take into consideration the student's regular classroom work abilities, special learning needs services (if any), and the overall academic performance of the student.
You will want to reference our Imagine Math Benchmark: Using the Quantile Framework to Inform Instruction document for more information about interpreting student results. You will also want to review some information on what to do when students complete a pathway here.

View ArticleStudents are able to alter or "hack" a web page by editing what is called the Markup, or code. Students can do this on any modern web browser that we support without much technical experience, and unfortunately Imagine Math is unable to prevent this due to that it is client side edits. For example, if the student is using Google Chrome they would simply need to right-click on the element within the page, and from the context menu click on the Inspect Element menu item. This will bring up the developer console where the students can change the values of the Markup that they desire. This can also be done in Internet Explorer, Safari, and Mozilla Firefox just as easily with a few different steps. Please note that any page refresh or revisit of the page will result in changing back to their proper values that are on our server.
We recommend the Educator always rely on their Student Progress Reports as the source of truth, and when students are stating they've earned more points or completed more lessons than the Student Progress Report shows, have the student refresh the web page and all will be restored to it's true data.

View ArticleThere are multiple reasons that a student may not be able to take a test. The scenarios and solutions are outlined below.
A test hasn't been scheduled yet
Tests are scheduled to a student's specific group via the Bulk Scheduler or assigned to all groups via the Easy Benchmark Scheduler.
test monitoring
The Testing Window is Closed
When a test is scheduled, a start date and end date of the testing window is set. If the window is closed then you can re-open it by reassigning the test using the Bulk or Easy Benchmark Schedulers.
The student trying to access the test outside of the scheduled hours
If the student is getting the message that they are outside of test hours, use the calendar to double-check that the student is attempting to access the test within the hour and day limit. If they are indeed within the proper hours for the test, please contact Customer Care, who can double-check the time zone set for your school.
The test has been submitted
Students can submit their own test by clicking the Review button, then clicking Submit Test.
A teacher/admin can submit a test by editing the lock icon from the test monitoring menu.
The test has been locked by a teacher or admin
An admin or teacher can lock the benchmark of a student they have access to via the menu. You can unlock the test through that same menu.
The test is closed on the Test Builder page
We may be able to view whether a test has been closed by going to Assessment>Test Construction>Test Builder then checking the "Closed" slider column on the far left.
The Wrong School or Class is Selected
If a student is assigned to multiple schools or classes they will have to select the appropriate school/class in order to take the corresponding test. If a student can't take a test, it's possible that they have selected the wrong class and/or school, or that they have been assigned to the wrong class/school when their account was created or last updated.

How long are the Benchmark Assessments?
All three benchmark assessments have been constructed to be taken within a single class sitting. The tests contains 30 multiple choice questions each. Generally, students should take between 30 and 45 minutes to complete an assessment.
Both Placement & Benchmark Assessments consist of approximately 30 items.
How can I invalidate my student's Benchmark 1 Test results?
Imagine Math discourages invalidatingBenchmark 1 test scores. While we share yourmission to encouragestudents to learn math, we also acknowledge that test validity is compromised by allowing students to retake anytest. These assessments use the Quantile Framework for Mathematics to provide an objective measure of each students ability level and readiness to learn new math skills and concepts. Please remember, the adaptiveBenchmark 1 test is the starting point for your students and benchmarks are in place to demonstrate changes in their proficiency over time.
Also, Imagine Math utilizes a dynamic system that will adapt to your students math proficiency. If they do not pass a lesson, they will be scheduled to retake that lesson and/or will be assigned remediation to help build comprehension to that math concept. Imagine Math provides this strategy in an effort to help build proficiency and comprehension of the lesson concepts.
Educators can contact their Imagine Learning Customer Success Manager to discussBenchmark 1 Test Invalidation.
Is the Benchmark Test the same for all students?
Imagine Math's benchmark tests are based on the student's nominal grade level and the time of year in which they take the test.
The benchmark tests will adapt based on the student'sresponse on the test items. This process allows Imagine Math Benchmark Tests to produce a Quantile Measure and Performance Level based on the individual student's abilities within the program.
Can a student pause the Benchmark Test?
If students do not complete the benchmark test within a class sitting, the next time students log in to Imagine Math, they will automatically return to the benchmark test to complete it. Once students begin a benchmark test, they are required to complete the test in its entirety before continuing to work on lessons in Imagine Math. Test progress is preserved, so students will resume the benchmark test where they left off.
For those students who do not complete the benchmark test in a single class sitting, we recommend that you discourage them from using Imagine Math until the next class sitting, or until such time when you can provide proper oversight for completing the test.
How many Benchmark Tests are there in Imagine Math?
Imagine Math provides the initialBenchmark 1 Test automatically when students first log in to their account. Imagine Math also provides two (2) subsequent Benchmark Tests (2 and 3) throughout the school year which is applied by the educator. Each subsequent benchmark test can only be administered 90 daysafterthe previous test is completed.
Can the initial benchmark be disabled?
Imagine Math requires that all students complete the initial Benchmark 1 to determine the level of precursory remediation a student may or may not need. Students will complete the Benchmark 1 only once.
The Benchmark 1 also produces the Quantile Measure, Performance Level, Normal Curve Equivalency, and Percentile Rank.
What does "EM" stand for within the Quantile Measure Assessment?
Emerging Mathematician (EM): Measures below 0Q are reported as EM---Q (e.g., a Quantile measure of -120 is reported as EM120Q) where EM stands for Emerging Mathematician and replaces the negative sign in the number. This code is predominantly seen for material and student measures at the early grade levels.
What happens if a student is absent on the day of the benchmark test?
Students who are absent on the day of the benchmark test can still take the benchmark test at a later date. As a teacher or school administrator, neither the classroom benchmark date set by you nor the district benchmark period set by your district administrator prohibit you from administering the benchmark test. If students are absent the day of the benchmark test, simply do not assign them the benchmark test in the Benchmark Roster. Instead, plan to administer the benchmark test under your supervision when the students have returned to class.
