Executive Bio

Mr. Rod Makoske has been Senior Vice President of Corporate Engineering, Technology & Operations at Lockheed Martin Corporation since February 18, 2015. Mr. Makoske is responsible for providing corporate leadership in the strategic areas of technology, engineering, production, supply chain, program management, and sustainment operations. As the principal engineering and operational leader for the Lockheed Martin Corporation, he oversees the recruitment, retention and development of Lockheed Martin's engineering and operations workforce and ensures engineering, technical and operational excellence across the enterprise. He served as Vice President and Group Managing Director of LMUK Integrated Systems at Lockheed Martin UK Limited. Mr. Makoske has over twenty three years experience within aerospace and defence and has held a wide variety of leadership roles in the areas of engineering management, programme management, and business development. He served as Vice President of Technical Operations for Lockheed Martin Systems Integration in Owego in March 2005. Prior to this, he was Director of Engineering and Test for the Multi-Mission Solutions Business area supporting Lockheed Martin US Navy Helicopter programmes. During the past decade, he had extensive involvement in Maritime Helicopter systems particularly in the area of anti-submarine and surface surveillance. He also served as the Vice President of Modernization, Sustainment and Advanced Programs for Lockheed Martin Mission Systems & Sensors. He is member of the American Helicopter Society (AHS) Technical Council and is on the Binghamton University, Watson School of Engineering Advisory Board. He is a 1986 summa cum laude graduate of Virginia Tech from which he received a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
