Our leadership sets an inspiring vision and are good examples of execution. They are incredibly knowlegable, yet humble enough to not pretend to know something (if they don't).
How they treat their employees
My direct manager is very honest and open
Gives you time to get the groove of things.
Leadership at LANL is focused on science, discoveries, and remaining cutting-edge.
Treating women with respect and stop favoring some employees even when found committing time card fraud.
building a system for new hires to be successful with short term goals.
The team is lacking basic leadership skills and the ability to be proactive and think strategically.
The best part of compensation is the competitive salary.
Health care package is great
My focus is on trying to survive being a new hire. If the culture is so destructive that I don't survive then the package is irrelevant.
Pay is very generous for this part of the country
Basic salary and 401(k) matching.
They pay women lower because they lack diversity and inclusion.
You have to take mandatory five vacations days off from your own time during their annual Christmas shutdown. As a new employee, this make its difficult to accumulate enough hours to have two weeks paid vacation as it comes out of your own time. Not even Christian.
Everyone is helpful and kind. They go out of there way to help.
Everyone has a roll on team
Most co workers were experiencing same mistreatment but continued to excel despite management
close knit, count on each other, esprit de corps
My team is flexible and creative. They are always coming up with new ideas.
In our group, the team members are overwhelmed. Interaction is a strained forced political correctness. What if we gathered for a meal every Thursday afternoon and swapped stories of overcoming obstacles. Tremendous learning opportunity.
Employee are toxic catty people who have a problem with women and young people. Very old co-workers who consistently keep company back due their lack of education in their field.
We need a leader in the department to manage things. Currently, my coworkers and I just kind of fumble around determining for ourselves who does what and our manager doesn't seem to care to manage the department.
The most positive part if the culture is an open attitude towards sharing information (that can be shared). It almost feels like working on a college campus.
The science is phenomenal and always diverse.
Opportunity for freedom to be creative in problem solving.
They are always ready to listen. That includes constructive criticism as well as new ideas.
LANL makes a difference, and each employee is recognized to do that.
Managment has a my way or the highway approach to things, so we are short handed cause the highway has jobs
Older people need to be more open to new ideas as well as get rid of attitude towards females and younger co-workers.
I think the company should invest in some manager training and development and promote people to managers if they possess the necessary skills, not based on popularity.
It was an exciting opportunity to discuss the possibilities
They asked about past skills as well as were okay with lack of current skills if you showed a drive to improve your ability and capability regarding job you were being interviewed for. Noticed it was only male managers--glaring and common throughout all leadership in company.
The questions were not out of the ordinary. I was able to prep well and feel confident.
It was respectful, but got to the point quickly.

Being appreciated for my efforts.
accomplishing set goals and transistioning to the next project
I like that I am independent. My boss trusts me and I deliver.
the interaction with professionals and colleagues
Cultural apathy and indifference is rampant. I wonder if an experienced mentor with a progressive set of goals might give structure to a new-hire process that is devoid of guidance.
Co-workers provide a toxic environment, only attitude changes can improve work experience. Dread work everyday.
I don't enjoy going to work with no leadership and nothing to work towards.
