    They talk a good line, but the good ol' boy system is alive & well in Lowe's Land. Very, very often, the person to be promoted is selected even before the posting goes live & then store management goes through the motions of following promotional guidelines.

    Not always the best choice. Just because someone answers questions better has nothing to do with work ethic or knowledge. Everyone thinks its rigged most of the time.
