Madison College Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

It can always be expanded.

Review from Customer Support Dept

The health insurance and retirement benefits

Review from Business Development Dept

It is a generous compensation package, and it is communicated clearly.

Review from Admin Dept

I feel I'm paid fairly for my duties, which I've never felt before in previous jobs.

Review from HR Dept

We get great time off, and being part of the WRS is wonderful. In addition, I feel that health benefit contributions are generous.

Review from Operations Dept

convergence to a salary rather than basic increases

Review from Product Dept

It is a highly competitive compensation package compared to other higher education institutions in the area and the benefits are great!

Review from HR Dept

Retirement and Health Benefits are great along with the ability for a flexible hybrid work schedule.

Review from IT Dept

I feel valued with the work that I am doing and my hours a flexible.

Review from Finance Dept

I like that wages are not set by my direct supervisor, and are considered within the College standards across departments.

Review from Customer Support Dept

The College pays a larger portion of our benefit costs and reduces the employee out of pocket cost. Strong retirement options, savings, 401 etc...

Review from Admin Dept

Madison College pays a large portion of the insurance premiums. You can't get much better!

Review from Finance Dept

Great insurance options at a fair rate.

Review from IT Dept

Review from Admin Dept

WRS and health insurance cost share

Review from Customer Success Dept

Review from Admin Dept

Review from Engineering Dept

The best part of the compensation package is flexible choices for health care and use of time!

Review from Admin Dept

Retirement and health benefits are great

Review from Operations Dept

The benefits (health, dental, etc.)

Review from Operations Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I am new to the college and took a pay cut due to the salary cap for an instructor position. I make the maximum but it's still a pay cut.

Review from Customer Success Dept

My raise was not greater than inflation.

Review from Admin Dept

Quit paying us a child wage

Review from Customer Support Dept

I felt undervalued, because I wasn't receiving consistent feedback, so I didn't know if I was doing a good job or not.

Review from Operations Dept

My role includes several different areas and was once 2 separate positions. They combined the positions but kept the pay the same. I am paid a minimum of $10/hour less than everyone else in my office, while having a heavier workload than my peers. There is also no room for a significant raise.

Review from Admin Dept

During the pandemic, it was difficult to manage all my job duties as a team of 1, I truly went out of my way to get what was needed done and now that we are out of the pandemic and have less restrictions, it seems like my hard work has not been compensated for. Reevaluate my classification.

Review from Customer Success Dept

I don't feel undervalued because every day I learned different things and perspectives to involve my job responsibilities .

Review from Customer Success Dept

Not enough recognition or understanding of what we do. Compensation would make me feel better

Review from Admin Dept

A notable additions in tasks/projects assigned, especially when permanently assigned, should lead to additional compensation. Compensation bands can be confusing and are not always followed when it comes to the tasked assigned vs. the title given vs. the band placement.

Review from Operations Dept

Being paid what other coworkers are paid within the college and department. Many positions in my department are doing jobs/responsibilities I have done in the past and currently and are paid more.

Review from Customer Support Dept

I feel that the employees that are "red-lined" and have been here for many years are not valued. We have not seen a raise in years and our level of experience with the college is not valued. We will never see increases in salaries and this model is NOT good for those that are at the top level.

Review from Customer Success Dept

i would like to receive compensation to make up and exceed the CPI yearly. This hasn't happened in many years.

Review from Operations Dept

I'm in an interesting position and have been working in the program Director Role since my second year of employment but do not qualify for Tier 3 compensation even though I have been and continue to perform Tier three work. I have only been at the College for four years (Full time).

Review from Admin Dept

My compensation is a one lump sum. My salary has decreased over the last 3 years when considering COLA and not receiving any increase in salary. My time, talent and what I bring to the table is not considered in the faculty compensation.

Review from Customer Success Dept

It it difficult to learn that I make way less than the faculty I work with, including part-time and those who have worked here less than I have. I am a full-time employee, I have worked here for 11 years and just made it to the midpoint range for compensation with a raise I received during summer 22

Review from Customer Support Dept

Pay scale that allows growth with professional developement and an understanding that we as instructors are also working in the fields we teach. The dedication and time we put towards our student population do not reflect this in an equitable way.

Review from Operations Dept

Reclassifications should be taken seriously when more duties are added to a person's plate over time.

Review from Operations Dept

There currently isn't a process to receive a raise based on merit or quality of work. The process that do currently exist for promotion or to request pay increases are confusing, opaque, and difficult to engage in. I feel there is a culture of shame around asking for more money.

Review from Customer Success Dept

The ability to have performance raises. Yearly raises for administration. Compensation recognizing that same job titles or positions do not do the same work and there needs the ability to assess at the individual level.

Review from Admin Dept

Management does not take time to appreciate individual work, nor do they understand our work on a day-to-day basis. More one-on-one communication and mentorship would be great.
