Madison Area Technical College (Madison College) is a public technical and community college based in Madison, Wisconsin. It serves students in parts of 12 counties in south-central Wisconsin: Adams, Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Juneau, Marquette, Richland, Rock, and Sauk.

What makes you most happy at work?
Working with students and my team. I have a good team who is great, and I can connect with and help students.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My department has engaged colleagues who are very friendly and we have changed our department culture and now it is a place where we truly care about each other.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The college is trying to pay more attention to equity and inclusion; however, their efforts are not leading to true change and there is not concerted efforts to move towards it or move forward issues in an efficient way.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The college changed payment systems and the new system does not match what I need to be paid or paid at the same level that my other colleagues were being paid. The college hired me for a specific set of skills I have; when my 2nd set of skills were needed, they did not remunerate accordingly.
