Parents and students have access to a progress summary as well as a continuous snapshot of a student’s performance that displays each item and unit completed in the course.

To access the progress summary, follow these steps:

Login to your student or parent account

Access the Learning Center

UnderMy Courses click on the blueReports button at the bottom right.

You can also access reports by clicking on the course image to get to the Course Details page.

Click the Reports tab for a Progress Summary. You can select any date range, but it will default to the last 7 days.

Summary at the topshows the number of lessons completed, amount of time spent, the percentage of questions the student answered correctly on the first attempt, what lessons they worked on and whether they scored proficiently on those lessons.

The first graph, Pathway, illustrates the student's pace over time. You can mouse over a point on the graph to see the lesson(s) the student worked on that day and whether they were mastered (green check); failed (red x); completed but not graded, such as a project (blue check); or in progress (gray ellipsis).

The Time Per Weekgraph shows the number of minutes the student has worked each day in purple columns for a quick overview of time spent. A larger column representing total time spent that week encompasses the daily purple columns. That larger weekly column will appear red if the student completed fewer than 30 minutes, orange if the student completed between 30-60 minutes, and green if the student completed the recommended 60 minutes or more that week.

Finally, the Performancegraphshows an overview of progress and effort on lessons the student has covered within the date range. The bar chart indicates the total number of questions across all sessions that a student has answered in a particular lesson. Dark green represents correct on first attempt, light green represents correct on second attempt, and red represents incorrect answers on the second attempt. You can also see if the lesson as a whole is considered mastered, failed, ungraded, or in progress, as well as how many lessons total in the date range were mastered, failed, ungraded, or in progress. For more detail on which questions were correct or incorrect and in what order, please refer to the Snapshot tab.

You can click the small csvbutton at the top of each of the above charts to export the data to a comma-separated values spreadsheet.

At the top of the Summary chart, you'll also see a small print button which will print all the charts on the Reports page. We recommend printing to PDF so that you have a copy saved on your computer.

To access the course snapshot and replay sessions, follow these steps:

Login to your student or parent account.

Click the link to the Learning Center

Click on the course image to get to the Course Details page.

Click the Snapshottab to get to a calendar showing your sessions and time spent as well as an overview of past lessons.

Click on a calendar dateto jump to the lessons covered that day.Mouse over a calendar date to view time spent and number of questions answered.

Click the squares under the lesson titles to view the instruction/exercises and the answers the student gave.

We want to let you know about a difficult decision we recently made. Due to changing business dynamics, we have decided to close GiftedandTalented.com, and beginning July 1, 2018, our products and services will no longer be available.

We wanted to let you know about our decision as soon as possible so that we can support you with any necessary adjustments you may need to make to your student’s education plans for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year. To that end, we have highlighted below some important dates to keep in mind, in addition to actions you should take before the final discontinuation of our services.

Key Dates

January 31, 2018: Beginning on this date, you will not be able to enroll students in any new courses. In addition, as of this date your existing courses will no longer be renewed automatically.

If you would like to extend enrollment for your current course(s) or a previously enrolled course, you can do so through your parent account until March 31, 2018.

If you have any questions or concerns about your enrollment needs through June 30, 2018, please contact our customer support team (contact details are provided below).

March 31, 2018: This will be the last day you can extend enrollment for a current or previously enrolled course using your parent account.

June 30, 2018: Access to all courseware and tutor-supported services will end on this date.

Important Next Steps

Log in to your parent account: We ask that you log in to your parent account to review and assess the status of your current course enrollment(s) and needs through June 30, 2018.

Connect with your tutor: If your student currently receives Tutor-Supported courseware and is working towards a certificate of completion, please contact your tutor to review your student’s status and next steps.

Download reports: We encourage you to download any performance reports you may need by June 30, 2018.

Students and parents now have an updated homepage with expanded ability to view and schedule digital classroom offerings.

In the Learning Center, you will see the following 3 panels:

1. Your tutor would like to meet with you

This section enables you to review and select available appointment times to schedule your Welcome Orientation, End of Quarter Conferences, and End of Grade Conferences. This section is only presentwhen there is a pending conference to register for.

2. Happening today

This section will list the events occurring today for which the student is registered. Students will be able to click on the event to join it directly.

3. Register for an upcoming class

Both students and parents will be able to review and schedule from available upcoming dates in this section. This is where exploration classes and individual tutoring will be displayed. Parents will be able to schedule events for the students in their family and will be able to attend any events enabled for parents, such as conferences.

To register, simplytake these 3 steps:

Click the name of your chosen event under "Register for an upcoming class"

Make your date/time selectionfrom the options presented. Please note that for some events therewill be only one option.

Digital Classroom Calendar

Just below the threepanels, you can click the Digital Classroom button to open up a calendar of upcoming eventswhich can be viewed by day, week, or month. Click an event to view details and a description.

Access to all courseware and tutor-supported services will end on June 30, 2018. You will continue to have full access to your student’s information through September 30, 2018, using your parent account.

We remain committed to protecting the privacy of your student’s Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Per our stated privacy policy, we will protectyour student’s PII in accordance with all privacy laws and regulations that are applicable to our business, and your student’s PII will be deleted per our data management and retention policies.

Reporting will be available both through your parent account and your student account until June 30, 2018, even if you no longer have an active enrollment. After June 30, 2018, you will continue to have full access to your student’s reports through September 30, 2018 via your parent account only.

Yes, tutors will continue to support all Tutor-Supported courseware through June 30, 2018.

You can discontinue use of our courseware at any time. Please also note, beginning January 31, 2018, course enrollment subscriptions will not be renewed automatically.

To sign in to your parent account, go to https://giftedandtalented.com and click on the “Sign In” button in the upper right-hand corner.

Enter your Username (do not enter the student ID) and corresponding Password. If you do not know your username, please contact our customer support team via our chat service at https://giftedandtalented.com/contact-us or at 844-944-3833. If you do not know your password, you can recover it by clicking on the “Forgot Password” link.

Once you have signed in, choose “My Family” in the drop-down menu, click the “Extend” or “Renew” button on the chosen course enrollment, then complete your payment.

Beginning January 31, 2018, you will not be able to enroll students in any NEW courses. Your students can continue their CURRENT course(s) through the end of their existing 3-month subscription period.

Important! Beginning January 31, 2018, current courses will no longer be automatically renewed. If you choose to renew enrollment in any current course, or a previously enrolled course, you MUST log in to the parent account by March 31, 2018, to do so. Course renewal services are not available from the student accounts.

Student sessions are continuously recorded by the GiftedandTalented.com Learning Center. We make note of every action students take providing an opportunity to review student work after the fact. Using session replay can help you or your students explore areas they may need additional practice on or to identify specific misconceptions that might have contributed to any failure to master a concept.

We update our records and the corresponding reports every 5 hours, by default. We’ve added a control to the courses that enables your student to record the results of their work immediately instead of having to wait for the report system to update.

How to End a Session?

In the upper right corner of the screen, you will see the student's name. Going to the name will reveal the option to Logout. In some older courses, and option to "End" is at the lower right corner. Logging out rather than closing the course window will trigger the service to update report information about the student behavior, making their session information available for playback within the next few minutes.

If it’s been more than five (5) hours since session completion and the session still doesn’t appear on the calendar, please submit a request to our Customer Experience team.

Additionally, if the BACK button is used from within the browser during a course session, reporting issues may occur.

How to review a session?

Sessions can be reviewed through both the parent account and student account Learning Center by clicking Reports. Modern courses have replay available through the Snapshot tab, while older courses have Course Logs.

When a student logsin to GiftedandTalented.com, the student is logged into the Learning Center. The student’s enrolled courses will be available under My Courses. To access the course details page, simply click on the course image to the left of the course name. Some courses will list the topics a student has worked on in the course to date in a Concepts Summary.

On the course details page, click on the Reportstab, then click Concepts Summary link. The summary will:

Displayeach strand, with concepts covered so far under each strand

A percentage correct to indicate the student’s performance.

Please note that the percent correct does not need to be perfect in order to show proficiency, as a student will often miss the first few attempts and then get several in a row correct after they understand the concept.

Astudent can click each concept to view a replay of the exercise that will allow the student to enter answers and receive feedback. (This review feature requires Java to run.) Work done from this section is not recorded in the course progress and thus will not change the percent correct in the Concepts Summary page.

The course’s motion will bring these concepts back around to the student to more organically test for proficiency if needed.

When a student logsin to GiftedandTalented.com, the student is logged into the Learning Center. The student’s enrolled courses will be available under My Courses. To access the course details page, simply click on the course image to the left of the course name.

The course details page will display the course appropriate tools in tabs across the screen. Tool availability is determined by whether the course is Tutor Supported, Independent Study, web or CD-based. Clicking on the Course Logtab will display a calendar that reflects the student's sessions on a monthly basis. Key features of the calendar include:

A color-coded circle that reflects the length of the session in minutes for each calendar day that a session was run

Daily number of sessions run

Combined length of the sessions

Average percentage correct

Ability to view a class report for that selected day by clicking on the color-coded circle

Session replay to view student's responses

Student reports can be accessed from the parent account created to complete enrollment and tuition payment. If you have at least one student account but you do not yet have a parent account, reference this article for instructions on how to create one and add the student(s) to your family profile.

Sign into GiftedandTalented.com using your Family Profile credentials

Click “LEARNING CENTER”. Note: This link will only appear when a student has an active enrollment.

Once in the Learning Center, you will see one tab for each student in your family. Under each students’ tab is a list of courses enrolled.

3. Click the blueReports button to access reports for a specific course.

If you click on the name of the course or the course image, you are directed to the Course Details page.The Course Log tabshows a monthly view of each session completed. Each day with a session shows a dot to indicate the length of the session. For some of our web-based courses, you can click the dot to view Individual Session Summaries for that date.You can change the month and year to explore past sessions as needed. In each summary, you can click to replay a student's session.

Reports

The second tab, Reports, typically gives two views:

Progress Summary gives a high level view of progress in the course. You can see grade placement along various strands related to the course material with a graph of the student’s trajectory. Please note that the first digit shows grade level and the digits following the decimal show percent complete for that grade level. For example, 7.25 will reflect a student working in seventh grade who has worked to the 25\% mark in the course material for that strand. You can also see under Summary a thumbnail sketch of overall participation in the course, including the number of sessions worked, the number of minutes worked, the number of exercises, and the overall percent correct.

Concepts Summary shows each strand, with concepts covered so far under each strand, along with a percent correct to indicate the student’s performance.

Please note that right now only the Redbird Mathematics: Advanced Edition course, Language Arts & Writing, and Algebra courses are compatible on iPadsusingiOS 8.4.1 or better.

Here are the suggestions for setting up your iPad before using it with your course:

STEP 1: Turn on the iPad.

STEP 2: Click on the round Home button (found on short side of iPad) to access the iPad Desktop/Home.

STEP 3: Tapthe "Settings" icon. It looks like a grey cogwheel.

STEP 4: In Settings, if using iOS 11 or later, tap “General”. In the right column, tap “Keyboard”and turn off “Smart Punctuation”.

STEP 5: Still in Settings, scroll down the left column and Tap“Safari.”

STEP 6: In Safari settings, scroll down the right column and set these as described:

“Block pop-ups” should be turned off. (it should be white, not green)

“Block Cookies” should be set to "Always Allow" or "Allow from Websites I Visit".

Tap"Clear History and Website Data”. A new pop-up will ask, “Clear History and Data?” Cleaning will remove history, cookies, and other browsing data. Tap“Clear”.

STEP 7: Click on the roundHomebutton (found on the short side of the iPad) to return to the iPad Desktop/Home.

STEP 8: Open Safari and login at http://GiftedandTalented.com. We hope that you enjoy your courses!

Students who complete the Calculus and Physics course series are encouraged to take the corresponding Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations. Thesecourse series are intended to help prepare students for successful passing of APexams.

Tutor Supported (TS)

For students taking Tutor Supported courses, the grade level placement is determined by a collective - student, parent, and tutor. The tutor will apply the agreed upon grade level placement change to the student’s enrollment. Additional changes can be made if necessary.

Independent Study (IS)

Parents may find that as their studentprogresses through an IS course, the grade level may needadjusting.

Follow the steps below to increase or decrease the grade level of a course. Please note, this feature is available from a Family Profile account for IS courses only.

Log in to GiftedandTalented.com using your family profile username and password.

On the top header, click on the “Learning Center”.

If only one student is assigned to the account, the page will automatically load that account; if there are multiple students associated with the account, please look at the top left of the homepage and click on the tab of the desired student account.

Once the page has loaded, look for the course to be adjusted on the right hand side of the screen.

Immediately below the course name, the current grade level and a pencil icon will be displayed.

Click on the pencil icon.

A pop-up called Manage Grade Level will appear.

The pop-up will display the current unit and give you the option to move to more advancedcontentor simpler content.Each adjustment moves the student approximately one half grade forward or backward in the continuum of the curriculum and resets the student experience.

Please note: This control should only be used during the initial experience or after a long breakas historical performance data will be cleared and lost. Repeatedly adjusting placement will result in improper behavior of the adaptive learning system and an inappropriate student experience.

Students who have successfully completed a GiftedandTalented.com tutor-supported course will be awarded a completion certificate. You can request a copy from your course tutor.

While official transcripts are not currently offered, a record of course history completed since August 2014 is available in the Learning Center in the Academic History. Click the Academic History button under Resources at the bottom left.

Click theProgress Summary link on the left side to view the following:

Summarygives a high level overview of the student's total time spent, exercises completed, and overall percent correct.

The next graphwhich shows the current grade placement and percent correct by strand. Grade placement will show the grade level followed by a decimal and the percent complete, so a student halfway through fifth grade will have a grade placement of 5.5.

The Grade Placement Trajectorycharts the student's progress through grade level by strand, according to the number of sessions completed.

To replay sessions, follow these steps:

GiftedandTalented.com hereby grants User a personal, nontransferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Solution solely for User's personal, non-commercial, educational use, and only in accordance with the written instructions/directions provided by GiftedandTalented.com. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the software and services provided in connection with the Services are solely for User's own personal use, and not for the use or benefit of any third party. GiftedandTalented.com may change, suspend or discontinue the Services, including the availability of any feature, database or content, at any time, or modify this Agreement with or without notice to User. Use of the Service by User following such notification constitutes User's acceptance of the terms and conditions of this Agreement as modified. User agrees that all content and materials available on or delivered through the Site or the Services (the "Content”) is the property of GiftedandTalented.com and/or its affiliates or licensors and is protected by copyright, patent and/or other proprietary intellectual property rights under United States and foreign law. GiftedandTalented.com is the owner and/or authorized user of all trademarks, logos, service marks and trade names (collectively the "Trademarks") on the Site Except as otherwise expressly provided herein, User’s use of the Site does not grant to User a license to any Content or Trademark User may access on the Site and no intellectual property rights of any kind are assigned or transferred to User under this Agreement. Use of the Content for any purpose not expressly permitted in this Agreement is prohibited. Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.

USER CONTENT

The Site and Services may permit the submission of communications and other content submitted by User ("User Generated Content") and the hosting, sharing, and/or publishing of such User Generated Content. User Generated Content should not contain any confidential information.

User owns the rights to anything User posts to the Services, including text and photographs. GiftedandTalented.com reserves the right, in its discretion, to cancel or refuse registration of a GiftedandTalented.com User ID. User shall be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of User's GiftedandTalented.com password and other account information.

VII. THIRD PARTY SITES

The Site may contain links to third-party websites ("External Websites"). TERMINATION

GiftedandTalented.com may restrict, suspend, or terminate this Agreement and User’s access to the Services and/or all or any part of the Site, at any time and for any reason without prior notice or liability.

Upon termination notice from GiftedandTalented.com, User will: (i) no longer access (or attempt to access) the Services and (ii) delete all software (and copies thereof) provided in connection with the Services. All provisions of this Agreement that by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability.

The rights and remedies of the parties are cumulative and not alternative. No waiver of any rights is to be charged against any party unless such waiver is in writing signed by an authorized representative of the party so charged. Neither the failure nor any delay by any party in exercising any right, power, or privilege under the Agreement will operate as a waiver of such right, power, or privilege, and no single or partial exercise of any such right, power, or privilege will preclude any other or further exercise of such right, power, or privilege or the exercise of any other right, power, or privilege. No modification of or amendment to the Agreement will be effective unless in writing signed by authorized representatives of both parties. If any provision of the Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions of the Agreement will remain in full force and effect, and, if legally permitted, such offending provision will be replaced with an enforceable provision that as nearly as possible effects the parties' intent. User may not assign or otherwise transfer any of its rights or obligations under the Agreement without the prior written consent of GiftedandTalented.com, which consent may be granted or withheld in its sole and absolute discretion. Subject to the foregoing, the Agreement will be binding upon and inure to the benefit of the parties hereto and their permitted successors and assigns. Any purported or attempted assignment or other transfer or delegation in violation of this Section shall be null and void.

When a student logsin to GiftedandTalented.com, they are logged into the Learning Center. Complete the following steps to launch a course:

Find the course to be run fromcurrentlyenrolled courses listedinMy Courses section.

Click theRun Course button that islocated below the course name.

The course will begin in a pop up window,which you may need to allow. The session may start with either a short video or go directly into course exercises.

To access the course details page, a student will click on the course image to the left of the course name. The course details page will have any course documents such as the curriculum outline and progress reports. It will also have a run course button at the upper right.

Students log into their courses to view instruction and work on computerized exercises. These exercises constantly assess student progress to individualize the curriculum to the student's needs. When enrolled in Tutor Supported Courses (recommended), the tutor monitors the course progress and corresponds with the student through phone, email, and digital classroom environment to help students achieve at their highestlevel.

Getting Started: An Orientation

All courses offered byGiftedandTalented.com are self-paced, meaning that a student maytake as long as needed to complete acourse. Each course has a recommended completion time, which can be found on the Course Details page for each course.

If aquarterlyenrollment period ends before a student completes a course, the subscription will automatically renew their enrollment for another 3 months so the student can continue progressing through the course. You can manage subscriptions if needed from the parent account My Family page.

For both Tutor Supported and Independent Study courses, your student's course is active immediately upon enrollment. Simply sign out of the parent account after enrolling and sign back in with the student's ID,which is sent to the email address linked to your account immediately after completing an enrollment. Student credentials and set up instructions can be found in the "Getting Started with GiftedandTalented.com" email.

Sign in to either the parent or student's account andclick the link to the Learning Center.

The Course Outline may be found in its own tab (Course Outline). You can navigate grade levels using the next and previous arrows at the top. Otherwise, you can find it under theDocumentstab as a PDF download.

Please note:If you are not yet enrolled in a course, the link to theLearning Center will not appear in your parent account, but outlines are also accessible on the external course pages under Additional Details so they can be reviewed prior to purchase.

Steps to Complete Parent Profile, Create Student Profile and Enroll

Step 1: Click Sign In button (upper right-hand corner)

Step 2: Click “Create New Account” button (lower left-hand corner)

Find Existing Student

Step 3: Complete profile with parent info (not student!) and click “Create New Account” button (lower right-hand corner)

Step 4: Once the parent account is created, sign in using the newly created account. Your Family Profile will be displayed.

Step 5: From the courses page, click on the course you are interested in and click “enroll”

Step 6: From the pop-up, if your child does not have an existing student account and you would like to add a new student to your family profile, click on “add Students to Family Profile.”

Note: If your child already has a student account, use the "" option.

Step 7: Add Student to Profile by completing the form.

Step 8: After confirming that student has been added to family account, find your desired course from the masthead.

Step 9: Go to the course you wish to enroll in and click “Enroll”.

Step 10: From the pop-up, click the student box to select the student for enrollment. Then choose the “Enroll Selected Students” button.

Step 11: Follow remaining check-out screens to complete enrollment. The customer will receive a confirmation receipt email as well as a Welcome email with the student’s ID, set up information, and Tutor (when choosing a Tutor Supported course).

Our courses are self-paced, so students receive instruction and work independently according to their own schedule. If support or additional instruction is needed, parents of studentsin independent study courses can review progress and provide directsupport.

Students in tutor supported courses have a dedicated tutor who monitors their progress and can be reached via phone or email if they have questions. If their tutor is not immediately available, they can reach a different tutor Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm Pacific, by calling our tutor hotline.

Tutors conduct welcome orientation sessions and end of quarter conferences that are open to both parents and students. Additionally, students can schedule up to one 30-minute individual tutoring session per week. These sessions are held in a blackboard/video/audio/screensharing-enabled digital classroom environment.

Tutor Supported students also have access to register for live digital exploration classes where they can interact with other students and the tutor about an enriching topic in math, science or language arts. If they are unable to attend, they can still register and watch a recording of the class. Students in independent study courses can attend one of these sessions per quarter, as an introduction to them.

Finally, tutor supported students receive a certificate of completion when they successfully complete a grade level.

The data gathered as students move through the program will evaluate their performance on each grade level. While Redbird Mathematics: Advanced Edition has concluding questions and projects at the end of units, neither Independent Study nor Tutor Supported have a traditional end-of-grade exam at present.

Common reasons and solutions for short sessions or missing session minutes are listed below:

1. Cause: Student clicks "Run Course" more than once, opening multiple session windows and only one session may be reported properly.

Solution: Make sure that only one session is open at a time in the browser.

2. Cause: Student receives a message while working on the course that session data may not be recording, typically a result of having sessions open on multiple devices.

Solution: Make sure that only one session is open. If you continue to receive this error, clear your browser's cache.

3. Cause: Student played multi-level games such as MathsCar for the entire session.

Solution: Quit and restart the browser to reset the session minutes.

4. Cause: Student closed course window without logging out properly, resulting in that session not showing on reports.

Solution: The session data should appear on the reports when you run the next session. To ensure that data is reflected as quickly as possible, be sure to click Logout from the menu at the upper right of most courses rather than closing the course window.

Once you've enrolled in courses, your accounts are ready to go! Read on or watch this short video for a quick orientation.

In your parent account, which you used to enroll, you can click the Learning Center button to view progress reports, adjust grade level, communicate with the tutor (for tutor supported students), or register for digital classes (if applicable) for any of your students. On the My Family page, which can be reached by mousing over your name at top right, you can find the student IDs and set the student passwords by clicking their names. This is also where you will manage subscriptions.

To get started on the coursework, mouse over your name to sign out of the parent account and sign in with the student's ID and password. The page will default to the student Learning Center. Make sure you've configured your browser or iPad with the instructions in your Getting Started email, and then click the blue Run Course button.
