Executive Bio

Ms. Adele D. Ambrose has been the Chief Communications Officer of Merck & Co., Inc. since December 2007 and has been its Senior Vice President since November 2011. Ms. Ambrose served as Executive Vice President-Public Relations and Investor Communications at New Cingular Wireless Services, Inc. (formerly, AT&T Wireless Services Inc.) from September 2001 to April 2005. She was responsible for all aspects of Public Relations, including corporate and financial media relations, marketing public relations, public policy and community relations programs and employee communications. In addition, she oversaw communications to more than 3.5 million AT&T Wireless shareowners, including its annual report. She served as Vice President of Merck & Co., Inc. from April 2005 to November 2009. Ms. Ambrose served as Vice President of Public Relations of AT&T, from 1999 to 2001. She served in other senior management positions in Public Relations at&T from 1991 to 1999. Previously, she served as Vice President of Public relations of AT&T. She was AT&T's chief spokesperson for nearly 10 years, representing its Chief Executive Officers to the media and handling communications on a wide range of business issues. Ms. Ambrose also led AT&T's international public relations, financial communications, executive speechwriting and employee communications. She began her career at Western Electric in 1978 and held a variety of executive PR assignments at&T. Since 1999, she served as Corporate Officer and Vice President of Public Relations at&T. Ms. Ambrose earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Pittsburgh.
