Executive Bio

Mr. Quentin Roach serves as the Chief Procurement Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Supplier Management at Merck & Co., Inc. Mr. Roach is responsible for global leadership of supplier relationship management of Merck & Co., Inc., wide expenditures, external manufacturing partnerships, supplier performance and implementation of supply chain strategies. Mr. Roach served as the Chief Procurement Officer and Senior Vice President of Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. since July 2008. Mr. Roach was responsible for global leadership for supplier relationship management, company-wide sourcing strategies and procurement of all materials and services of Bristol-Myers Squibb. Mr. Roach served as a Vice President of Global Customer Strategy, Vice President of Global Supply Chain/Global Sourcing & Procurement and Vice President of Global Packaging Engineering at Bausch & Lomb Incorporated. While at Bausch & Lomb, he advanced through a number of leadership roles in sourcing and procurement, supply chain and packaging engineering. He served as the Chief Purchasing Officer and Director of Auxiliary Operations of the University of Rochester/Strong Health System. He held a number of progressively responsible procurement and operations roles at other companies including Delphi Automotive Systems and General Motors Corporation. He serves as a Member of Executive Advisory Board at SCM World Limited. He has been involved in a number of organizations and boards, including National Black College Alumni - Hall of Fame Foundation, Advisory Board Member for Arizona State University - W.P. Carey College of Business-MBA Programs, The Institute for Supply Management - Editorial Review Board, Garth Fagan Dance Company, The Center for Youth Services and the National Advisory Board for the Arts Visitation Program. He was named in Savoy Magazine as Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America and is a past recipient of the Rochester Business Journal's 40 Under Forty - recognizing the top 40 young leaders for achievements in professional and civic leadership. He is a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association and served as a Guest Lecturer for the Executive Development Institute and Student Case Competition Judge. Mr. Roach holds a Master of Science in Engineering from Arizona State University in 1992 and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.
