phone, in person, offer, drug test.
What part of Metagenics's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
The leadership arm. Their business strategy is weak.
They are losing business to online competitors, they don't know their brand's difference and they struggle with committing to any single direction.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Metagenics?
I would suggest they eliminate many of the "legacy" employees they have in senior positions.
The company needs better leadership.
What do people at Metagenics think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Brent's still learning how to be a CEO--and it shows. He's more interested in hanging with the bros than being a leader. He is also creating a culture of "boys club" and doesn't recognize that to be an effective leader he must stay out of the weeds.
The new CEO tries hard to be hip, approachable, and cool, but he struggles to offer leadership, clarity on his expectations, and not micromanage his senior leadership. I think Brent (who I had very close access to) is very new to the CEO role and it shows in many of ways. He also has anger management issues. I've seen him shout obscenities and belittle his management team for decisions he made.
How's the work life balance at Metagenics?
Non-existant. For some. For others, easy as pie. My workload was so intense, I had an eye twitch...My boss on the other hand? He left at 3:45 every day and just assigned things down. For a CD he was terrible.
Non-existent. They expect you to work when they snap their fingers, regardless of time of day.
Does Metagenics have any remote positions?
Only for the blessed few who the CEO values.
No, the new CEO eliminated remote positions and work-from-home privileges--despite enjoying them himself.
How does Metagenics make decisions around promotions?
They promote the individuals who have been around the longest.
This is a company that is built on nepotism. The higher level jobs are occupied by long time (legacy) employees who look out for each other. It is common for people with zero leadership experience to be given promotions to lead teams despite their lack of knowledge, training, or practitcal skill set.

I got an offer shortly after the third round interview a couple of days later.
