How common are layoffs at MetricStream?

officially once in a year, unofficially any day when you speak truth.
It happened only in 2017. But the problem in the company is they don't know whom to terminate and who to retain. As a employee we think that doing great job, good quality in work and every year performance rating is meeting 90% would save the job. In-fact everyone put their efforts for securing the job first. Unfortunately MetricStream management/leadership is so worst that they don't even consider how the employee works while terminating. Management is ok to have resources with less salary with bad quality work but they don't want employees whose salary is high though the work quality is great. Think twice before joining here.
Layoffs are not too regular. The problem is management keep the management friendly employees and terminate employees if they have trouble with employee irrespective of employee performance.

every where having difficulties because of top managment poor thinking
people, management is too old and their thinking is not updated as per market change.

job security is none. given recent meltdown MetricStream is having on the ground of increasing the revenue

Management change only can change fate of MetricStream. All leadership team are behind their bonus, they don’t think about how the quality of product delivering to customers. So management change can change company
very hard. if they continue with same old attitude toward developer and do not innovate in changing the core platform

Forget social life
seriously. basically, you will not have a social life. because you're paid. by MetricStream. basically, they own you. higher management to manager level everyone has same. attitude.

believe me, you don't wanna join here. but if still want to.. then anyway.. if you know java, like working on legacy code and writing psql then you're good.

very depending.. feature implementation is demanded at a pace of hours not days. sometimes you can get statements like can't go home til you close all the bugs.. ridiculous
