What did you like most about the interview process? They hire on spot, no need for multiple interviews
What makes you most happy at work?My co-workers re why i go to work
What do you like best about the leadership team?Promotions are not merit based. Executives should allow employees to have a family and life and not view it as a negative. Executives are currently cutting store level hours to bare minimum to increase SPEH which maximizes stress levels for employees and frustration for customers. Not a good outlook
What's going wrong and how can it be improved? We are branded as a premium retailer but we no longer offer any advantages to match. With our old fresh policy, we had 5-6x more customers then now. We also offered better hours as we used to be 24hrs. Quality is now less than our own discount retailer Food Basics, and store hours are no better.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?Listening to employee and customer feedback. Stock employees see firsthand the effect that these policies have. Product will not move when mixed in with food that is about to, or often already has expired. Basic food training on how to identify overripe produce is clearly needed. Focus on quality
What needs to change to make the company culture better?More money for front line workers and less for the executives who get to reap the benefits and be able to work from home. Lets cut the pay for the executives and give to the front line workers, the ones who make the money for the company. Without us they wont have a job
