Working for government isn't easy given the public stigma, but the benefits are much better than the private sector. The main reason I stay working here is truly my coworkers and the family dynamic and relationships we have all developed.

Collaboration and opportunity to participate in decision making process.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The positive environment is due to the individuals and work teams. We work well together and make sure we have fun and keep it fun, despite outside negative factors.
What are some of the best things about your team?
All agencies, jobs, projects, etc are different, but my work team is incredibly inclusive to the point that we have all developed such close relationships where I can truly call my coworkers my friends and family.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The benefits. As a state employee the wages cannot compete with the private sector, and there is no opportunity or possibility to be rewarded for working hard or exceeding expectations, other than applying for a new/promotional job.
