What makes you most happy at work?Leaving work makes me the most happy at this job. Helping the students is great too, but our school basically only takes the kids who get kicked out of the public schools so they have so many behavioral issues and not enough support.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company? The most positive thing about the culture and the environment at the company is That after work drinks with coworkers because that's the only thing that gets you through the day.
What are some of the best things about your team? Most of the people are always new because of the high teacher turnover rate. The new teachers are always excited and fun to get to know while they are there.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?They do their best but its a corporation so they are taking direction from teams of people in another city who have never taught kids. It's a mess.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?I'd like to stay in the position I was hired for instead of being moved around wherever there's a gap. Teachers need more planning time that isn't taken up by meetings, and shouldn't be expected to work outside their hours to make up for lost planning during the day.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?Need to improve management strategies. Treat ppl better. Improve lesson plans.
