He held various positions in the energy industry for more than 20 years. He has been the Chairman at National Oilwell Varco, Inc. since June 2, 2014. He has been a Director of National Oilwell Varco Norway AS since June 2, 2014 and National Oilwell Varco, Inc. since November 2013. He has been an Independent Director of Benchmark Electronics, Inc. since October 10, 2008. Mr. Williams received a B.S. degree in Civil/Geological Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
