Executive Bio

Mr. Joel D. Reich has been an Executive Vice President of Product Operations at NetApp, Inc. since June 2015. Mr. Reich is responsible for overseeing the strategy, development and manufacturing operations of the NetApp product and solutions portfolio. He plays an instrumental role in positioning Network Appliance Inc. as a leader in the IP SAN and iSCSI space through evangelism, product strategy development and product marketing. He served Senior Vice President of the E-Series Products Group\Hyperscale Storage Group at NetApp, Inc. (known as Network Appliance Inc.) since April 2011 until August 11, 2015. Mr. Reich served as Senior Director of SAN/iSAN Business Unit at NetApp, Inc. Prior to his move to senior director, Mr. Reich's responsibilities at NetApp included interaction and education with key market analysts, customers and the press, establishing him as a thought leader among the storage community. Mr. Reich was also accountable for product marketing and management of the NetApp Fibre Channel and IP SAN product portfolio. He led the NetApp SAN/iSAN product strategy by working with Engineering in broadening the SAN solutions portfolio and engaging partners to complete the offering. Prior to joining NetApp in 2002, Mr. Reich was vice president of Marketing and Product Operations at HighGround Systems. He also held the position of Director of product management at Data General Corporation and EMC Corporation and was director of sales and marketing for Conner Peripherals Storage Systems Group. Over the past 15 years Mr. Reich has been integral to defining and introducing 'industry firsts,' including the world's first 3.5-inch hard disk drive, the first disk array for open systems and Windows???, the first end-to-end Fibre Channel RAID system and the first unified storage system. Mr. Reich holds a bachelor's degree from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
