Frequently Asked Questions About Node

  • Overview

Node is a powerful and sophisticated solution under-the-hood, however we think you will find it remarkably simple to use.

The Node Discovery box is a great way to quickly learn more about a person or company by entering person name, or company domain and then selecting from the dropdown. Additionally you will see broad recommendations of related people and companies. Consider importing (or finding) and adding multiple entities (companies or people) to a SmartList to see more relevant recommendations sorted by NodeRank as an indication of relatedness.

The Node Filter bar enables you to easily refine or focus Discovery results using sophisticated filters across a number of datapoints (for example: industry, number of employees, location, etc.)

Once you have the results you are looking for, they can be tagged, saved to a Node Smart List for convenient access, or simply exported to .csv

  • Overview

The Node AI Engine is designed to identify a broad range of similar people and companies based on your query and the underlying infographics, technographics, and demographics in our data-layer. Node Rank is an easy indicator of similarity considering the total of all this information. 100 is the most similar, and 0 would be the least similar. Always remember, if you would like to get more granular based on specific criteria (for example company size, or location) you will want to leverage the filters to refine Node's recommendation

  • Q: What should I enter into the Node Discover box?

A: The Discovery Box is great for quick searches! The system will recognize two types of queries: Company or Person Node will auto-suggest options once you begin inputting your query - select one of these options from the drop-down. Once you have entered a query, you will have the option of refining your results by selecting one of the options presented, or by adding additional information (For example if you enter John Smith as a person query, you will want to refine by company).

Q: Why do my recommendation results include companies or people that Idon'tthink are relevant to what I entered?

A: Recommendation results will take into consideration a multitude of underlying signals including keywords, industries, locations, people, skills, technologies etc - however the results are generally designed to be more broad in nature. We also recommend using a larger set of people or companies to create query from Smartlists. The next step is to leverage the Filter bar to get more granular in your results - ultimately curating the perfect set of people and companies to be tagged, saved to a list, or exported.

Q: How can I be sureI'mnot exporting duplicates of what I already have?

A: Many customers are exporting known whitespace accounts and contacts with little risk of duplication. In the event you are focusing in an area of your business where you might have accounts and contacts already, we recommend that you import those into Node as a first step. This will not only enable you access to more information on those accounts and people, but you will also be able to exclude them from any exports.

Q: I want to use a list of customers as my Discovery criteria, how do I do that?

A: Great question, and one of our recommended best practices. Start by importing (or selecting) a set of 5-10 customers that are indicative of a particular segment or customer type (for example - a particular industry, or a particular size) and create a Smartlist. Clicking "See All" will display Node resulting recommendations are based on all of the underlying signals and degrees of similarity. Dont forget to use the Filter bar to refine your results, add to a list and tag accordingly.
