Northrop Grumman Corporation Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Medical and dental package presented

Health and dental coverage, 401k company match

They gave me what I negotiated.

it comes every two weeks

I can not complain about the pay

I am paid a good salary.

The options available under the benefits plan and fair pay with good bonus opportunity

Paid pension for tenured employees.

The compensaation is pretty awesome

My Pension and the 401k match

I really like my pay

Company matching for retirement plan

a bit better than industry standards. Really miss Stock Options at a discounted rate though.

Review from Engineering Dept

401k matching and bonuses, insurance

Very good compensation plans inclusive of bonuses and benefits.

Education Assistance is the best benefit about working here. My master's program is getting paid for by the company!

Healthcare is expensive!!! The annual premium raises eats into yearly salary increases.

The 401(k) matching is quite good and insurance premiums are reasonable.

Pension and Roth 401k combined

Fair pay and benefit package

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

More compensation for what provided

There are no stock purchase or stock award plans at the middle management level. Healthcare benefits are average.

Receiving more than a 2% raise.

The pay was substantially substandard for what I was expected to do.

Higher salary with a bonus

As a manager, my employees are consistently making more money than I do.

Definitely undervalued and a higher base salary with the current benefits is needed to keep people in the job positions

I wish they realize that when someone of a lower level stepping into a role that was previously at a much higher level should be compensated as such.

Yes, undervalued. Ranking system is more political than performance based. Raises and salaries are not determined fairly

With my experience, I initially should have been hired on at a higher level than what I was. I have proven my worth above and beyond, but the company provides minimal wage increases compared to other companies.

Terrible people all over the company

Too much variation, a lot of us are doing the same work and get paid vastly different.

Review from Engineering Dept

PTO is important, NG just has PTO you can take for sick or vacation. Unfortunately they don't compete with other companies. Starting you get 15 days a year for sick/vacation, Boeing starts you at 20; it would take you 8 years to hit that PTO accurate rate.

NG needs to compete with Boeing, they have better benefits overall.

The rules in place for advancement in the company make advancement very challenging. Promotions are based more on lucky circumstances than merit. Constant reorganizations do not appear to add value and greatly complicate the performance review process (to the employee's detriment)

Long story short, when you get an increase that is claimed to be their fault, expect little to nothing the next yearly merit increase.

Review from Engineering Dept

Collectively we all have the vision to be the most trusted supplier of systems and technologies that ensure the freedom of our nation and its allies, collectively. Relatively speaking, the provided stock and health care contributions are a drop in the bucket as compared to executive bonuses.

Honor the skill set employees bring to the company. Stop using the excuse "the Northrop Grumman way". People have skills and they should be acknowledged. Its hard to feel appreciated and needed as a black American in Baltimore offices.

Review from Business Development Dept

Management team does not value individual employees. We feel more like numbers on a board than individuals. If the company had industry competitive salaries that would make me personally feel better about my compensation, as well as if promotions were base purely on performance.

Review from Engineering Dept

Better pay is always welcome. Saying it is not in the budget this year doesn't work or help moral. Never did.
