What is the best part about your compensation package?
ROA bonus- when the company wins, everyone wins. Our end of year bonus can go up to 33% of our annual salary depending on how the company performs that year.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Our vacation and raises/benefits are not comparable to others in the industry. Especially for technical staff. However, depending on your manager/site, you are able to flex your schedule within reason, which is nice.

Nucor used to be the top paying job in the low country. Compared to the ports and other business I feel like we are not compensated enough.

I don't feel undervalued, but Nucor needs to accept that other companies are catching up to our pay scale and providing better benefits, all while working in less harsh conditions. If we want to acquire and maintain the best talent out there, we need to gain back that competitive advantage.

What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone is genuinely invested in seeing each other win. Multiple people can be interviewing for the same opportunity and you'll see the internal candidates helping each other prep for the same interviews... You don't see that outside of Nucor

It's not them, its me. Although we all could be less negative and calm down a bit. When it is busy everyone is stressed and in a bad mood and it just makes things more stressful.

Everyone has the freedom to make an impact and those closest to the job are the ones making decisions for the company. Hierarchy doesn't really exist and levels of communication are flat

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
We need more vacation days and/or less restriction around us of sick days. Please more work from home days and more flexibility. I would be more likely to stay in this position long term if I got more work from home time. The inside sales team needs an additional supervisor or leader.
