As a young professional, starting at my first job out of college for Nucor, the corporate world felt so intimidating. Nucor leadership does such a great job of making sure our team feels a part of a community. We have a great network within the company that is definitely a testament to our leaders.

The leadership team is authentic and actually means it when they talk about safety and family. So many other companies throw around buzzwords but the actions back up the words. I have seen and heard so many stories about how Nucor has showed up for teammates families and that comes from top down.

Focus more on hiring quality help, these jobs are not for simple minded folks. Change the hiring process and stop making it take 3 months to get hired. Make decisions that let your team feel like leadership has their best interest at heart, not the bottom line $

Keep our pay raises more in line with the local cost of living and especially with rising inflation. Even with the average 2-3% annual pay raise we're essentially taking a pay cut each year due to inflation. The wages and benefits at Nucor Seattle are not very competitive with other local employers.
