What's the office vibe like at Perforce Software?
Used to be better, but there also used be less people. So, overall pretty decent.
We work hard, but we also play hard. To provide more context, there is never a boring day at Perforce, but employees all get along, managers are fair, and the company is building a strong culture with pizza days, happy hours, bagel breakfasts, spirited tournaments/contests, volunteer programs, and more.
What are some of the best things about your team at Perforce Software?

It's the best. We work incredibly hard, but we also have a lot of fun. Good work is always recognized, and feedback is always constructive.

How are layoffs handled in the Marketing department at Perforce Software?
Swiftly and often. In two years, this department has churned through four or five writers who were either let go or left to pursue presumably more stable opportunities and at least a couple of other employees (in marketing). Most recently, they let someone go who was 7 months pregnant. It's always chalked up to a "performance issue" when explained to the rest of the team. The executive team should probably start asking itself why this is happening. Given their extensive vetting process, I would be asking myself if management plays a role in any of this. My advice? Pass.
How's the work life balance at Perforce Software?

What do you like best about the leadership team at Perforce Software?
The CEO makes a point to create a personal connection with her employees/foster a strong team spirit with fun/volunteer activities.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation at Perforce Software?
Perks benefits vacation and bonuses slashed in past year under new ownership.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at Perforce Software?

There was no 9 for average work hours. I don't work 10 hour days, but 9. Company environment: fun and supportive.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved at Perforce Software?
The new owners are simply extracting residual value. They constantly claim high growth but that just means acquisitions and consolidation.

I think I'm paid fairly for my experience.

The people! The creative vision on the team is also very strong, so doing my job is "easy" too. Lots of work, but it is productive work.
