Phylum Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

We are a fully remote company that works hard, but respects the work-life balance of our colleagues.

People respect each other's thinking and there is an assumption that people are working with urgency. As such, interactions are typically lighthearted and positive and it is rare that I feel pressured by others. That we get a lot done tells me that everyone is applying some self-pressure.

Review from Engineering Dept

Developers can be finicky folks to work with and sometimes get along. I think the culture we have enables us to phlock together and keep everyone happy.

In my opinion, the most positive aspect of Phylum's culture and environment is, the empowering, enabling, and support of each employee to go out an execute their respective roles and responsibilities without being micromanaged.

Open communication and team building.

Culture of learning and trying new things. Team building efforts are also meaningful (e.g., month LAN parties).

Review from Engineering Dept

Everyone accepts their role within the organization and everyone shares the same goals.

Technical reviews (e.g., like code reviews) are a chance to improve the product and not simply a checkbox item or, worse, a chance to show off by pointing out other developer's mistakes.

Review from Engineering Dept

Flexibility gained by working remotely without a fixed schedule.

Review from Engineering Dept

We seem to be winning the war on talent and everyone is performing at a high level.

The great benefit of the remote work environment is the flexibility. I can quickly switch between work and home life easily and in a way that is organic to me.

Review from Engineering Dept

How laid back it is.

Review from Engineering Dept

For me, it's the fact that I can get my work done in a timely manner. I'm not dragged into endless pointless meetings every day. We all respect each others' time.

Review from Engineering Dept

Our work culture has two strengths in my eyes: (1) a clear mission with positive impact on the world, and (2) an environment that encourage work-life balance and proper work loads to make sure we aren't overworked.

Review from Engineering Dept

Open culture of discussion and community.

Everyone is polite and pretty engaging

Our company culture is transparent, supportive and collaborative.

I believe that the work that we're doing is important. I also feel like I am directly contributing to the company's success.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
