What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

There is a high level of trust, respect for people and their thinking, and an underlying assumption that people are working with urgency. The company is now more than 4 times the size it was when I joined but there is still a similar feel. I think that's an accomplishment of the leadership team.

Review from Engineering Dept

Leadership lets you work! They go out of their way to keep meetings meaningful and minimal. Being technical they understand the need to reduce distractions.

Phylum's leadership team has done a great job in hiring talented people and enabling, empowering, and supporting the employees to do what each person does best. This is a real breathe of fresh air.

They are understanding and willing to work with everyone for the overall success of the company. It is a true team atmosphere.

They all have technical chops

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

I hope it will be the stock!!

Review from Engineering Dept

I feel the benefits are great overall. Medical/dental/vision/401k/Stock options, plus unlimited PTO.

The best aspects of my compensation package is the 100% company paid healthcare benefits and the company match 401K. I am a serial start-up person, I have never seen a start-up offer this level of benefits.

I feel that I am compensated properly for the work that I do. It is a great overall package.

It is exciting to have an ownership stake in the company.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

Some of the brightest minds in the industry. A real lunch pale kind of place where everyone is happy to roll up their sleeves and work towards a common goal.

I am typically pleased to find simple approaches and clear thinking in my colleagues' work.

Review from Engineering Dept

Being relatively small, we get to interact with everyone on almost daily basis. Everyone has their own strengths and work well together.

One of the best things about the Phylum team is, we all come together to make decisions, and once the decision is made, we all execute.

Communication, flexibility, and respect for each other's talents.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

We are a fully remote company that works hard, but respects the work-life balance of our colleagues.

People respect each other's thinking and there is an assumption that people are working with urgency. As such, interactions are typically lighthearted and positive and it is rare that I feel pressured by others. That we get a lot done tells me that everyone is applying some self-pressure.

Review from Engineering Dept

Developers can be finicky folks to work with and sometimes get along. I think the culture we have enables us to phlock together and keep everyone happy.

In my opinion, the most positive aspect of Phylum's culture and environment is, the empowering, enabling, and support of each employee to go out an execute their respective roles and responsibilities without being micromanaged.

Open communication and team building.

What did you like most about the interview process?

Interviews Reviews

I don't know how representative my software-engineering interview was. We talked about my experience and I was given a question that is relevant to the work and product at Phylum but it was essentially a math question.

Review from Engineering Dept

The process was very deliberate and did not waste anyone's time.

Interview process was quick and to the point. They are incredibly keen on not wasting the interviewers time.

Review from Engineering Dept

The interview process was short, direct and mutually respectful.

What makes you most happy at work?

Outlook Reviews

Getting to know people. We are a remote company so there is that limitation. And solving problems and furthering the product we're building that is beneficial to the world.

Review from Engineering Dept

Being able to work with a fantastic group of developers and continuously learn new things. Love the freedom to work remotely and set my own schedule. Leadership is quick to tell you to take a break if family or personal things come up and ensure you have a proper work life balance.

1) Solving a real industry problem. 2) The ability to expand my network by interacting with different groups within an organization.

Working on hard problems with smart people.

Review from Engineering Dept

I enjoy the autonomy to fulfill my role within the company.
