The meeting question is too binary. Some meetings are effective and some aren't. More are than aren't though. I think my coworkers are fairly upbeat and make the environment I work in very pleasant.

Fewer meetings that could be emails, fewer people on the emails that do get sent.
Better leadership would be a good start. Having a title of VP means nothing if you do not have the skillset and or the desire to lead.
