The firm pays so much more to EVPs and MDs while underpaying those under them. This is shown in the income ratio between an associate and MD. They don’t value your work as they are focusing on automating things across function

Top leaders earn $100mm+ annually, while lower level employees are constantly squeezed. Top leaders also decide their own compensation.
People are kept as a set of moneys for showcase in the zoo. Skills don't matter since there aren't any real projects and the only thing that matters for compensation is political bolstering.
