It has been rewarding and a great learning experience up until recently. I've personally learned some valuable lessons with not trusting coworkers and leadership.

Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

It was wonderful from hire up until the site manager Ed Wendt returned to work after a year on medical leave. Now it's as though I'm walking on eggshells and wondering what else negative things are being said about me by the site manager. It doesn't help the the union steward is Ed's right hand man.

Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

I've observed deficiencies in multiple areas, the company does not take complaints seriously unless it is documented and does not protect the complainant from reprisal. Overall, I'd say my experience has been just okay and could be improved significantly.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

The open communication makes them the best.

What makes you most happy at work?

Doing the job I've enjoyed for many years.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

The best part is my pay in my compensation package

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Promote team building, stop gossiping about other team members with the boss.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Given the opportunity to perform a job I've enjoyed doing for many years.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Engaging with the customers/sailors is the most positive thing in my work environment

What makes you most happy at work?

Engaging with the customers/sailors makes me most happy at work and not having to engage with my coworkers.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

1) improve communication with all personnel. 2) Provide better and more oversight of site leads. 3) Enforce policies in place.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The most positive thing would be engaging with the sailors and the sailors recognizing my hard work and expertise with my job responsiblities.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Based on the workload correlated to the compensation is the reason I feel undervalued. An administrative position can be just as physically and mentally strenuous as a mechanical maintainer yet the compensation is below the lowest grade mechanical maintainer.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

They need to improve on understanding the governing policies and their actions need to reflect their understanding. They need to stop gossiping about their fellow coworkers. They also need to be held personally accountable for their actions and/or lack there of.

What makes you most happy at work?

Engaging with the sailors is what makes me the happiest as I do not look forward to engaging with most of my coworkers or the site manager. The environment is toxic because of the rumors the site manager has said about me.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

I believe the executive leadership team should get better at performing unexpected/random site visits to understand what is going on at the site and be mindful of the challenges that some of us are met with when dealing with the site manager Ed Wendt.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

As a Logs and Records Technician, we perform many administrative tasks with preparing a deliverable long after the physical work has been completed and up until the deliverable is transferred. I would feel better if our compensation at least matches or exceeds those of a Mech I.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

It's starts with the site manager, as many of them engage socially outside of work where they gossip. The team is no longer a team as some receive special attention/treatment while others are treated poorly by the site manager. There is also a lack of effective communication.
