How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at Quest Diagnostics?
I like what I do and that is why I am in the industry I am in... The interviewing process was easy for me since I was an internal candidate. When I was originally hired on it was pretty smooth as well.
What's the pay like for Sales roles at Quest Diagnostics?
It is on the low side they do not pay for the amount of work you do
What's the vibe like in the Sales dept at Quest Diagnostics? How many hours are you working?
its good, I enjory working with the majority of the people I work with

there are some of us that work really hard and then there are others that are just there for the pay check and do minimal work
How's the leadership on the Sales team at Quest Diagnostics?
you have some really good managers and you have ok managers.
What do people at Quest Diagnostics think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
No idea. Lots of acquisitions. Nice enough guy who hasn't changed the culture.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Quest Diagnostics?
Clean sweep. Put commercial at the helm and make growing revenue--not buying back shares and squeezing benefits--a priority. Get rid of lifers and acknowledge different needs across the business.
What part of Quest Diagnostics's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Compliance and corporate/support functions, and outsourcing are growing like Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Another cumbersome IT system sprouts up weekly. Any sort of complex testing cannot grow in this environment. One-size-fits-all approach to product launch is geared towards the simplest testing. We are slow and walled off from the customer.
What are your coworkers at Quest Diagnostics like?
Most of them lifers who have no accountability or concept of a deadline, or politicians who are more concerned with vigorously agreeing with their superiors, or outright shirkers who work one day a week and lie on their call reports. The occasional bully who flaunts his title and threatens to fire anyone who talks back. Even rarer, the competent individual who cares about the business and wants to grow. One in a million, someone who cares and can make a difference.
What's the office vibe like at Quest Diagnostics?
Either walking on eggshells or angry and frustrated
What are the team outings like at Quest Diagnostics?
Nonexistent. Christmas party a casualty of budget cuts.
How's the work life balance at Quest Diagnostics?
Hours usually manageable. Frustration carries over.

Standard length but overly rigid and process oriented.

Who flatters the right people and stabs the wrong people in the back.

I have a spacious office with good natural light, and dual monitors.

Show that you fall into lockstep and make your prospective boss feel like the most important person on the planet. Have no self-respect and show a willingness to be underpaid and patronized.
How do you feel about going to work at Quest Diagnostics everyday?
Frustrated. Angry. Quest's management structure and processes do not translate to useful skills outside the company.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Quest Diagnostics?
* Internally-focused company full of lifers so resistant to change that "I've been here 25 years" ends any dispute. * Compliance strangles innovation and growth. * Culture of bullying and retribution in many labs. HR slow to address. * Pay ~25% below industry average despite cash flow. All goes to share buybacks. * C-level execs isolated from the rest of the company.
Does Quest Diagnostics have any remote positions?
Most IT positions can be worked remotely. Lab positions...no way.
