My team has not had an outing. I am a manager and have requested offsite for my team, but have been told we don't have the budget.
What unique perks and benefits does QuickBase provide?
3 days of paid volunteer time each year, tons of food and snacks, lots of parties and celebrations, unlimited use of Quick Base.
None. They just got a keg and made a big fuss. Lame.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at QuickBase?
If you are assigned a craft demonstration, for God's sake read the directions. Also, take out a trial of Quick Base and be prepared to share your experience.

Frequently if you're good.

The teammates. The opportunity. The money.

Open concept around a central ring of offices.

Good for Boston, which is good overall.

Highly collaborative, intellectual, and with a lot to prove.

Business casual, though it's best to err on the "business" side of business casual.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining QuickBase?
The CEO is known for saying, "Our first priority is our customer, then shareholders, and THEN employees." If I had known that, I would not have taken the job.
What's the pay like for Design roles at QuickBase?
Competitive base. Equity is not offered, though there is a lot of emphasis on sales and profitability because we are owned by a private equity firm. There's a disconnect between what matters to management and shareholders and what matters to people working at QuickBase. It causes a lot of angst and resentment. Raises and promotions are stingy and based on an enforced curve.
What's the vibe like in the Design dept at QuickBase? How many hours are you working?
The design team is a group of very talented, nice people. The pace is slow. Internally, the team is strong. Corporate and product issues outside of the design team cause a lot of stress and gossip.
How's the leadership on the Design team at QuickBase?
The director of the design team is a strong designer, but has been promoted beyond his ability and has received no training. The overall culture at QuickBase is deteriorating due to poor upper management and lack of product direction. The Director of UX is a poor manager, providing no direction, and has plenty of criticism an no praise. He also, on several occasions, presented my ideas as his own and gave me no credit.
What's the Design team like at QuickBase?
Talented designers led by a terrible director. Turnover is very high.
