How does Renaissance Learning make decisions around promotions?
No idea. Career development does not appear to be a priority of the organization.
How's the vacation policy at Renaissance Learning?
The west coast employees have unlimited PTO (I think to be more competitive with industry in the Bay Area). The other regions have a standard PTO policy
Does Renaissance Learning have any remote positions?
The majority of the product team currently works remotely. Most have home "offices", but since the team is distributed, work feels remote anyway.
What's the company culture like at Renaissance Learning?
The culture at Renaissance varies widely by department but, generally, colleagues are very friendly. Engineering is particularly cushy and well-regarded while marketing is a bit undervalued. It is a good place to work but lacks more features and benefits that other tech companies enjoy.

Tuned in and progressive. Forward-thinking.
What is the best part about your compensation package at Renaissance Learning?
Top Employee Response
Very fair, competitive compensation
What are some of the best things about your team at Renaissance Learning?
Teams have high purpose, high impact, and high drives.
do you feel like you can impact the direction of the product?
Short answer, Not really. The product roadmap is largely determined by our executive team and board members behind closed doors. The roadmap is typically influenced much more by market analysis and opportunities, which are identified and prioritized from the top-down. Occasionally, product management can build a case for something (a needed upgrade, a new feature, etc.) but typically that work is only prioritized if it's causing great customer pain.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at Renaissance Learning?
Top Employee Response
People care about their work and know the impact it has. My colleagues are intelligent and passionate.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved at Renaissance Learning?
There are a lot of moving parts- the fast pace and high workload can be stressful. Expectations are high.
