Michael P. McCarthy — Chief Merchandising Officer and VP of Merchandising & Inventory at Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores

Mr. Michael McCarthy, also known as Mike, has been Vice President of Merchandising and Inventory at Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. since September 21, 2015 and Chief Merchandising Officer since October 20, 2015. Mr. McCarthy serves as the Executive Vice President of North region at Macy's. Mr. McCarthy served as Senior Vice President of Retail Operations at Sears, Roebuck and Co. Mr. McCarthy has over 30 years of retail experience, including 28 years with Sears Holdings Corporation. Mr. McCarthy is a seasoned retail professional with comprehensive experience across multiple retail disciplines at a senior executive level. Mr. McCarthy joined Sears Holdings in 1982, culminating in his role as the Senior Vice President (SVP) and General Manager of Sears Full-Line Stores from 2007 to 2011. Prior to this, he served as the Senior Vice President of Full-Line Store Retail Operations and Specialty Retail Formats, including the Sears Hometown Stores, Sears Appliance & Hardware Stores, Sears Auto Centers and Sears Outlet Stores. His other positions held during the time at Sears Holdings include: Vice President of Merchandising, Inventory and Marketing for the Hometown Stores and Director of Merchandising Planning and Placement for Sears Home Appliances. In 2014, he joined Pep Boys' corporate team as the Vice President of Store Operations and Administration.
