What is the best part about your compensation package? The company contributes to our HSA and pays half your deductible! Also the 401k match is really nice, all this in addition to a position that pays a little above the local market rate.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?Communication and caring. I work with a group of talented people that all know their jobs well and work well together. We play table tennis at work and eat together. I genuinely like everyone I work with. Part of being in this small company is that the CEO knows everyone and cares.
What makes you most happy at work? The sense of accomplishment that being on a small team provides. We make products that are used by millions of people and each member of the team has a big impact on our success.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?Listening to the people actually doing all the work, invest more in employee education and culture, actually attend and provide more value to meetings instead of complaining, be more forward thinking and open to change, and limit the toxic animosity.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?Not micromanaging. You hire people based on having skills and taking their own initiative, not so you can double check and change everything they do. Furthermore, stop making awful biz dev deals with your "friends". Put the business first and let your employees innovate.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?Put the right people in charge, listen to employees instead of talking over them or cutting them off, actually be in the building and on the ground with work more, and more team building activities for better culture.
