Q&A With Skillshare Employees

Skillshare’s collaborative culture goes far beyond our online community. It’s a real part of the humans-first way we work as a team. We believe the work we do makes a difference in the lives of our members, and our mission extends to ensuring our own team members live balanced, fulfilling lives. That means different things for everyone, but it begins with a workplace that embraces modern flexibility, inclusivity and transparency. We support remote teams, and we offer unlimited vacation (with a required minimum!), generous family leave, and paid sabbaticals for tenured employees. Skillshare team members earn competitive salaries, stock options, and full benefits including 401k. Plus: catered lunches, work from home Tuesdays, quarterly offsites, happy hours, and, of course, generous learning stipends. With our mission at the core of everything we do, we’ve worked hard to create a culture that champions collaboration and inclusivity. We’re proud to be recognized as a top place to work by BuiltinNYC and Crain’s, one of the five best places to work for women by Bpeace, and a top-rated workplace for dads by Fatherly.

How employees describe working at Skillshare

Bad customer selling practices that they get a ton of negative feedback on.

I love what I do!

I have spent seven full days of emailing customer service trying to correct an unauthorized charge on my credit card, and I have gotten seven days of the runaround. It has been the worst customer service experience literally literally in my life. They're literally not reading my emails.

They refuse to budge on making it a hospitable environment at all. DEI efforts are all for show. You will get fired if you report.

They hire good people. Unfortunately, they rarely stay because of the toxicity.
