Good leadership team for me
Communication seems to be a priority
I like that the leadership are all kind and understanding. So far I have not been in a position where I felt they were treating me in a bad way.
Seem to be working together to improve the company
Respectful, inclusive, focused, strategic, kind
The entire department heads need to be fired and a new crew brought in to run the Mail room and work with the employees to better the daily routine.
Fire them all and have it run by a third party, which will care about the worker and not the company.
Actually leading. They are aware of the low morale and toxic culture but don't know how or try to address it. They set the example of how not to be. Toxic people are enabled to the point where people w/top tier talent leave w/out another job lined up. Nothing changes as a result. Multiple red flags.
Review from Operations Dept
Mentorship. Encourage and inspire. Managing by fear just creates a toxic atmosphere.
Review from Marketing Dept
The manager and supervisor have been there over 30 years. They will say and do anything to protect their jobs and keep their money making jobs going. The entire structure of the mailroom needs to be removed and reshaped going forward. It is an unmitigated disaster.
Has a good mix between base and variable
Generous bonus when the company does well.
Review from Marketing Dept
Robust benefits package, great for employees with families.
Review from Marketing Dept
Everything is equal and balanced
Free Medical Plan with excellent health care insurance
After so many years there, the company will help you find a better job at Sony with higher pay and benefits.
Compensation reviews should be conducted on a rotating basis (every 5 years?) to conclude if compensation is competitive with current economy. If someone was hired 10 years ago, they get paid a salary from 10 years ago even if they've been promoted 3x since.
Review from Marketing Dept
As a person who spent many, many years there with education and experience, there must be a way to have workers get out of the mailroom into higher paying jobs, with more ethical and moral managers. No person should work there over 3 to 4 years.
If you are promoted, the promotion rate is usually up for negotiation and you wind up being underpaid by industry standard by 10-15%. If you get a second promotion, the math adds up quickly and negotiation is largely avoided at this company.
Review from Operations Dept
Pay scale is 10-15% lower than some industry comparables.
Review from Operations Dept
My team is efficient, hard-working, and able to provide support for a variety of issues or volume overload that may occur.
We seem to be on the same page mostly
Top talent that are a joy to work with everyday!
Supportive, inclusive team that has balanced work, listen to each other, give and receive feedback effectively
Nice people. No BS. People are smart and if they don't know something, they own up to it.
Review from Marketing Dept
Support coworkers and think outside silos and groups.
Because it is so bad starting from the top, they don't learn much. We all learn how not to be. There is animosity amongst each other and major lack or communication or transparency in fear of people betraying each other.
Review from Operations Dept
Cross-training. Would be good for others to be able to know how to help another team mate who might be overwhelmed. Training needs to include motivational angle. We're on a team, it is not an individual contribution to accomplish goals.
Review from Marketing Dept
There is just to much bias and favoritism from the managers and supervisor, that allow certain people to get away with things while others are held accountable and have to cover for others. It is all based also on racial favoritism for people and bias against other people who speak out against mgr.
Communication between teams is often fragmented and there are frequent overlaps in efforts that could be combined.

Friendly executives, fantastic team members, fun industry.
We have an inclusive and diverse environment

Gym, dentist, nutritionist, coffee shops, multiple places to get food all on the lot - great working environment
Review from Marketing Dept
Get rid of OKRs. Develop empathy and other leadership skills.
HR does not pay attention to dept turn around/red flags. Executives are not thoroughly vetted before hired. When working in the entertainment industry you get a reputation for your work ethic/who you are as a person, that is not taken into account because the execs have no idea what they are doing.
Review from Operations Dept
Company needs better executive leadership that can execute on people management as well as numbers. Current leadership does not care about their team members, they only care about projects. Can't say this for all departments, but definitely true for some.
Review from Marketing Dept
Ideally, the manager and supervisor need to be removed and an entire new team brought in that meets with the head of the department. A fish rots from the head down and this department is the worst at Sony pictures.
The re-organization has been going on for well over 12 months and the ever-changing environment has laid the tracks for a less collaborative, more paranoid environment. If us underlings had a clean understanding of leadership's vision, it would help.
Review from Operations Dept
It was simple, did not have to do multiple interviews. At the time I actually had a boss who could recognize a good employee when they see them.
Review from Operations Dept
Learning more about the company, felt like a family
I met a few colleagues that would become my team mates, as well as the individuals that led our department.
Review from Operations Dept
The atmosphere was very inviting

Beautiful place to come to work
Content production. Movies have been great.
My direct team, my direct manager
There are a lot of possibilities to cross-pollenate and make interesting ideas come to life.
Review from Operations Dept
They need a complete overhaul - too many stubborn "veteran" execs and employees who have some how gotten away with their toxic behavior yr over yr, with old ideas and only interested in staying employed with their bloated paychecks. Talk of personal and professional development never happens.
Review from Operations Dept
Business is feeling stale due to lack of direct-to-consumer opportunities. Too many department restructures, many of which are unnecessary.
Review from Marketing Dept
Constant restructuring makes employees on edge. Bureaucratic tendencies make many projects take painfully longer than they should.

Beautiful lot. Fun product. Here are more words.
Review from Marketing Dept
More training and educational opportunities for existing employees. More promotions from within. More leadership with basic people management skills.
