Younger, less experienced and less knowledgeable hires are coming on board at salaries higher than veteran employees. Any promotion for a veteran is capped at 5%. We started well below the new hire salaries and still trail years and years later.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?The company acquired another utility and overpaid. Existing employees are bearing the brunt via terminations, cuts in benefits, pay freezes, longer hours, bad, uninformed decisions and financial mismanagement.
