Executive Bio
Mr. Anthony L. Wilson has been President of Mississippi Power Co. since October 19, 2015 and has been its Chief Executive Officer since January 1, 2016. Mr. Wilson served as an Executive Vice President of Operations at Mississippi Power Co. since May 4, 2015. He served as an Executive Vice President of Customer Service & Operations at Georgia Power Co. from January 1, 2012 to May 9, 2015. He served as a Vice President of Transmission at Georgia Power Co. He led the Georgia Power Co's marketing and customer service efforts while operating and maintaining an electric system that serves 2.4 million customers in all but four of Georgia's 159 counties. Throughout his career, Mr. Wilson served in numerous civic, community and charitable roles. He began his career with Southern Company at Mississippi Power in 1984. At Mississippi Power, he held various positions including Manager of the Meridian Region, Manager of the Columbia Area, Assistant to the President, Assistant Plant Manager and Region Power Delivery Manager. In 2002, he joined Georgia Power, where he served as Manager of Marketing Regulatory Affairs, General Manager of Distribution Engineering, Construction and Maintenance, and most recently, Vice President, Distribution. He has been the Chairman of Mississippi Power Co. since August 4, 2016. He has been the Chairman of Mississippi Power at Southern Company since January 2016. Mr. Wilson has been a Director of Boys & Girls Clubs Of Metro Atlanta, Inc. since October 2012 and Mississippi Power Co. since January 2016. He is an active in local and state boards, including 21st Century Leaders, United Way, Boy Scouts and the American Cancer Society. He serves on the Advisory Board of the School of Engineering at Mississippi State University, where he was selected as a Distinguished Engineering Fellow in 2009. He serves on the Distribution Executive Committee of the Electric Power Research Institute and the Power Delivery Committee of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies. He spearheaded United Way campaigns, chambers of commerce and government advisory boards, including membership on Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal's Severe Weather Warning and Preparedness Task Force. He is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi and holds professional memberships in IEEE and the National Society of Professional Engineers. Mr. Wilson has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University and an MBA from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is also a graduate of the Oxford University Advanced Management Program.
