SSM Healthcare Outlook Employee Reviews

What makes you most happy at work?

Caring for the patients. It makes it all worth it. I enjoy making them smile and laugh. Anything I can do to take their mind off their hospital stay or medical issues is what I enjoy most about my job. I always greet patients positively and prove how much I care about my job.

Leaving at the end of the day

Caring for patients, especially the newborns.

I like everything here and love working here

Patient care with wonderful patients

Giving excellent customer service and care.

Working with my team, listening to them, helping them to grow.

A problem I can solve with the tools at hand; finishing a document.

I do my job to the best of my ability and treat everyone like I expect to be treated...that is my satisfaction.

To come into a work place where everyone is professional, caring, respectful and strives for excellence for other businesses to have good relationships with SSM Health.

Review from Admin Dept

My patients. I love caring for them.

Working with great co-workers and earning an adequate wage/salary.

Completeing my job for the day

When someone says they've had an issue for weeks and I was the first one to act and fix it.

my coworkers, generally a stress free environment

Review from Operations Dept

Getting to meet new people and change lives

Being able to help my patients get through a seemingly terrible time in their life

Review from Operations Dept

I get to see the direct impact I have on my patients and seeing them be excited about the smallest progress makes everything worth it. Being able to see the impact I can have on any give person is truly incredible and giving.

Review from Operations Dept

Knowing that I did my best when facing challenges at work, and then learning that my best was enough.

Review from Operations Dept

Helping people is really great.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Better pay, better benefits, better healthcare, supplies to the floor, clean laundry, clean hospital rooms,

Too much of a focus on creating news feeds for the CEO as opposed to building and running a good operations. CEO needs to show up to the office and be present.

The higher ups are out of touch. Unionizing

If SSM health wishes to succeed, it needs to elevate the critical staff it relies on to function, and it needs to develop better communication strategies. Several departments are fed up with lack of appreciation from management, and a total lack of communication.

Review from Operations Dept

senior leaders address the real issues. stop leading the company from an if you aren't my friend I will fire you stance

The company is currently in transition. The environment will improve when this process has passed.

Review from Admin Dept

Administration needs to listen to the average worker. Despite the front line workers pleading for them to do the right thing.

Review from Operations Dept

The executives need to leave the corporate office to see that their hospital system is failing

Review from Operations Dept

The new SSM Health Corporate Leadership has forgotten the heritage that created a special healthcare system. The founding sisters would be appalled at the direction our CEO is taking us. SSM Health used to feel like a home and workplace that believed in its mission, that culture has been destroyed.

Review from Operations Dept

It’s generally stresssful. We should be using more up to date systems but IT is stuck in the early 2000s.

Review from Admin Dept

More consistent enforcement of rules

Review from Operations Dept

The patient care load is overwhelming and patient safety falls through the cracks.
