SSM Healthcare Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

They are personable and down to earth

The are great leaders daily

Not enough diversity in leadership

To me the leadership team is available when needed for issues.

We have a lot of support from the C-Suite

my particular group is amazing and the provider i work for is amazing. Its the company itself that is the issue

Review from Customer Support Dept

They are very kind. They help guide us in the right direction if we have questions. They are an excellent and important team to be apart of SSM Health!

Review from Admin Dept

My unit manager is amazing and in touch with how nursing works. Genuienly trying to improve the working conditions on our unit as much as he can.

Understanding, hard working. Depending on whst dept your in

The leadership team is dedicated to furthering the company mission and values.

Review from Admin Dept

Backing employee's based on their judgement

Review from Operations Dept

They were really nice and cared about their employees.

They challenge me to become a better version of myself.

Review from Operations Dept

I really like that I have similar views to them because it makes working in this company a lot easier and enjoyable.

Review from Operations Dept

i am most impressed that they celebrate diversity. They value everyone from all walks of life In the people they care for and in the people they employ. They don’t just advertise their mission, they live it.

Review from Operations Dept

they really care about their employees and customers

Review from Customer Support Dept

They do their best to communicate to us what is going on with the company.

They are dedicated staff and teach by example.

Review from Operations Dept

The leadership is great for such a large company. The direct supervisors for RNs are phenomenal.

Review from Operations Dept

We work together and provide exceptional care!

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Put soda machines on the floor at stjoes west expand er

Listening to the employees who are actually taking care of patients. I often felt dismissed and ignored when safety issues were brought to leadership attention

Favoritism, race gap, refusal to listen to staff

CEO needs to live up to the commitments of the ministry or honesty and transparency.

Communication, and just supporting staff in general

Review from Customer Support Dept

Recognizing employees for their accomplishments instead of only pointing out failures. Need higher wages

My immediate superior is fine, but upper management is awful. Major changes aren't even known about til a few days before they go live. There's almost no communication between them and our boss.

Review from Operations Dept

Recruiting and retaining full time staff

Communicating goals. Supporting when mistakes are made. Hold all accountable in the same fashion for the same things.

they need to learn how to manage co-workers with issues. They now say if there is an issue between co-workers, Work it out yourself. They need people, management training. When you have a conflict the manager should work on it as to not make the conflict worse.

Leadership is weak in their hiring practices and their ability to assess and address core problems. Leadership prefers putting things off and surrounding themselves with "yes" men to ensure they aren't called out for strategic decisions.

Micromanaging is horrible. Constantly changing things.

Direct leaders are great. Administration has gotten progressively idiotic over the past 4 years.

Review from Operations Dept

Leadership is very poor at Defining goals and articulating their vision. Leadership members undermine each other to employees and do not present themselves as a unified team. Employees are expected to do the right things but our leaders don’t seem to know the right thing to do.

Review from Operations Dept

Management needs to get better at hiring and retaining staff

Review from Admin Dept

Implementing change in areas they do not work in or have no experience in. It would be different if they would come to employees level and work a day in how the company is run now, but they do not.

Review from Operations Dept

Being in touch with what is important to employees

Review from Operations Dept

Understanding people and not underestimating their employees

Stop focusing on "sales" (getting so many patients in and out as quickly as possible for profit). Focus on actually caring for people.
