Mr. Robert J. Gomes, also known as Bob, served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Stantec Inc. at WilsonMiller Stantec from September 15, 2009 to December 31, 2017. Mr. Gomes served as the Senior Vice President of Industrial and Project Management at Stantec Inc. since May 2008. He joined Stantec in 1988 and since 1991, he served as principal engineer in charge of the Edmonton office and since November 1998, he served as Vice President of the Edmonton Urban Land group of Stantec. Mr. Gomes served as the Vice President of Alberta North, stantec's largest region since January 1999 and was responsible for all Stantec activities in the Edmonton office and in northern Alberta. He started his career working with a consulting engineering firm. Mr. Gomes has been Non-Independent Director of Stantec Inc. since May 2009. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta.
